Princes of the Universe - Open

(Apologies for not replying sooner.)

"Hey Lynn" she called out from the drivers seat "jump in". She did have a destination in mind and it would be about 30 minutes driving to get to their destination.

Climbing in, Lynn pointed out towards the front and said, "Let's go; where we headed?"

"Vampires, huh?" Lynn said, anxious to explore her power in full, away from prying eyes.

"oh, is that the reason?" Lynn quipped. "I guess we're both screwed again," grinning at the idea of why it was named for vampires. As they pulled up to a gas station, Lynn climbed out of the jeep and grabbed a couple sodas', paid for them and headed back to the jeep to wait for Alice to return.

They got the beach only a few minutes given her driving style and Alice got a two large flash lights out of the back of the jeep along with her bag of supplies. They really shouldn't need anything else as she felt her boots sink into the sand.

"Closest I ever got to a beach were trips to the banks of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers every so often growing up," Lynn said as they walked along the beach, her sandaled feet sinking a little into the warm sand. Looking out, she could see the aqualine waters crashing onto the beach.

Watching as Alice took off, her wings keeping her in the air, Lynn marveled at the sight. Remind me never to get you ticked off, she mused. Landing beside Lynn she picked up the stride as the walk continued. "It's all clear for you" she added with a smile.

"Alright," Lynn replied, taking a quick swallow of Coke as she looked around the beach; her mind was already picturing her elsewhere, back to the time she first manifested her powers, what put her on the OSE's radar. Here we go, she whispered as she began tapping out on her thigh the music she would use as a demonstration.

"Off through the new day's mist I run," she began to sing, her voice at first soft but soon rising to full crescendo. "Out from the new day's mist I have come...."

As she continued there came from behind them the sounds of wolves running towards them, as if on the hunt. To look at the scene, one could see them charging past, snarling but not biting since there wasn't anyone else there but the two of them. It was the same music she'd sung that awful day in Missouri but this time for an audience of one; to look at Lynn, though, one would've a woman focused on her power - molding it, shaping it to suit the situation at hand. That was the beauty of a power such as musical creation - you could adapt it to the situation at hand. It didn't matter the song but what came forth; had Alice been a hostile threat, those wolves would've been snarling and biting at her, hoping to draw blood and defeat her.

Instead, Lynn's focus was on an area nearby; indeed, the wolves charged through and around the nearby spot, while more and more wolves charged past them....then, just as they'd arrived, they disappeared like a thick mist evaporating.

Taking several moments to catch her breath, Lynn glanced over at Alice. "It takes a lot out of you because you're not only focusing your song outward, the imagery that comes from it takes effort as well; too often and I'd collapse like a sack. I know this; I wouldn't want to be on the other side of that."

She got some one of the chocolate bars and offered it to Lynn as she recovered. "I wouldn't want to be facing that either " she replied still looking a bit stunned. "Can you do smaller projections of power?" she suggested. If you could do something big like that then a smaller display should be possible.

"No better way to find out," Lynn added in-between bites of chocolate. After a few more deep breaths, Lynn began singing at different pitches and vocal ranges, her power manifesting in jumbles of different images. "The power manifests differently depending on emotion, feeling and thought," Lynn said in-between uses. "For instance, if I'm angry, it'll manifest in darker imagery that can injure or even kill and so on."

"Now, if I need to stop an attacker and I don't have time or space to spool up, I can always do this," adding, "cover your ears."

Then, after a few seconds to give Alice time to cover her ears, Lynn let out what amounted to a sonic scream, the waves emanating out in rings which tore up the sand before them; as they hit the water, you could see spaces where the water had been. "I've never had the decibel levels measured out but the one time I had to use, the person trying to assault me ended up with ruptured eardrums...hence why I suggested you cover your ears."
