Some games are better with two - Mallory

So it wouldn't be clothes next stop. It would be books and Alice did read from time to time. "I would like to come with you" she replied cheerfully. A bookstore wasn't something Alice looked for often but they did find it in the mall.

So entering the source of inspiration while juggling her bags she looked back at Mallory. With so much choice of subjects and a vast range of ideas she couldn't even try and think about what titles Mallory would pick up. "So what do you usually read?" she posed thinking that would be a starting point.

Alice tended to read quite random things; usually from the university library when connected to her degree course and random selections that caught her eye from a bookshop. So what about her?

"I tend to read books related to my part time degree course as part of my studies but normally its history or something romantic. Leisure reading tends to be e-books but I do read the occasional graphic novel. 'Maus' is certainly worth a read along with 'V for Vendetta'. Both are still relevant today" she replied as she scanned the shelves closest to them. She might find something here for herself in a physical book form.

The closest Alice had gotten to girl time was with the army nurses prior to now. Now she felt it was happening while she was a free person. Perhaps she would pick up another graphic novel this evening. A curious thought crossed her mind about just how different things could have been if oddities hadn't been revealed to the world in 1993. She'd heard an army nurse talk about Wonder Woman and Superman as if it was a forbidden subject. It was news to Alice but she'd never been able to find those titles anywhere. Which made her think they'd just ceased to be when the world changed. How much more had been lost in the comics world?

They'd wandered into the graphic novel section while they'd talked and Mallory browsed. She'd also interesting things to say and that made Alice smile. Mallory hadn't talked about a special person in her life and neither had Alice just yet.

"I got to borrow a lot of things in the past so I don't really have a book collection yet. I still did the school work but didn't attend one even though there was a school on the base. I wonder how much I really missed out on by not being with other children" she replied. She was making up for lost time and living in a hurry but she'd never get that old life back. She had to forge a new one instead.

Mallory had advice to dispense about two subjects. Building a book collection and parties with boys being grabby. A title caught her attention and she reached up to pull it down to look at it more closely. ‘Y the last man’ looked interesting according to the blurb on the back and she could see the whole set of it. Five books in total. It was probally better to try and see how she got on with it rather than take the chance on a series she didn’t like.

“This looks like it’s your kind of world Mallory. No men in it bar two” she mused showing this to who she felt was a new friend. “I’ve found comics easier to read and digest. Manga also works for me”.

She’d been to a club with Xander. The touches she felt that night felt good but the girl who felt her butt wasn’t shooed away. A pity she never found her again that night as it felt good.

“So boys can get grabby? So is it better when a girl touches you?” she posed looking for manga now. Idealy she wanted a short series that wouldn’t run for twenty volumes. So that ruled out quite a lot of it.

Mallory seemed to have plenty of advise to dispense today. She also said she got on better with a woman than a man and explained why. Alice could deal with both genders quite easily. She was hard to get on with however when the dark memories came back and something innocent could trigger them. She hadn't realised she'd been helping Mallory just by being herself.

Right now she was in control and smiled back at Mallory. "I'll give this book a try anyway. That is good advice but lets find a book for you" she replied sounding happy.Just don't let life happen until you were ready.

So they were heading to a new section of the shop. Then select a couple of titles to finish off in this shop.

Alice being in the security services had a slightly better idea of what was going on but sometimes even she was in the dark. Things did look uncertain all the same but she could provide some kind of answer. "I think the truth falls somewhere between rumours and the ghost busters. I have a slightly better picture of whats going on but even I'm not sure. I'm in the security services and I don't think there's as many secrets as you'd think. It's the same level as you'd get in the states. However we do have a lot of possible paranormal activity and some of has been proven" Alice mused as Mallory got looking for her books.

She certainly didn't have all the answers and she hoped revealing her job wouldn't be a shock.
