Some games are better with two - Mallory

Looking up from her table and the fragments of her snack Alice knew she'd need another donut; as well as another double expresso. The voice that she heard belonged to a very pretty woman with pony tails tied with ribbons. Alice smiled back as she'd need to go back to the servery anyway; it would also bring her closer to Mallory as the cogs turned in her brain; that confirmed what she was seeing and she figured she'd like to know her better.

"The pink icing is rather sweet and in fact I feel like another one. I'm Alice by the way" she mused once she closed the distance. A happy smile remained as she hoped this good day could get even better. The only downside right now was the pain in her shoulders.

Alice thought that Mallory sounded more appropriate; Mal just might follow later in the same way her own name was shortened at work and she gave the woman a warm smile in return. She had a certain man on her mind by now and while she tried to figure out what they had she wouldn't make a romantic move on anybody else. That wouldn't stop her being friendly and getting to know people.

"I would love you to join me Mallory. I'll get an extra one as my treat for you" she replied indicating with a movement of her head the table she'd just left to order more supplies.

Then it was Mallory's chance to order what she wanted. Alice was next to order as she ordered another black double expresso and two pink iced donuts then returned to Mallory with a tray in her hands. "Given the workout I just had more donuts are probably a good idea. Hitting tennis balls for an hour worked muscles I didn't know I had".

Now sharing a table Alice was offered the middle donut. She accepted with a smile on her face and now she could also consider her coffee. There also was a question posed that she was able to answer.

"Mallory, that was my first session. I don't know much about it yet so a staff member used the serving machine to see if I liked it or not. I'll need more time before I get playing properly but I think I like it. The professionals make it look so easy" she mused. "I normally do track and field but I fancied a change". She now lifted the middle donut which was bigger and took a little bite out of it.

These two sports were her choices at present. Other hobbies would follow later as she got used to living here. There were so many options and only so much time. She needed to pick the right ones.

"You never tried tennis again? it takes time to get better at things" she added in a caring voice. That was the same for everything.

Alice firstly had to figure out how to serve but she could play with underarm serves until she did. It was about her and Mallory learning together and she'd bring the other woman through along with her. so eating a bit more of her bigger donut, then taking a sip of coffee she had a suggestion to make.

"Lets say round this time tomorrow. We can rent rackets and balls and play a simpler game than the players who are good at it. We'll just hit balls with underarm serves until we figure it out together. how does that sound?" she asked. This would do them both good not just in body but in mind. Perhaps also even deal with life's stresses.

Alice gave a big smile back when Mallory accepted. Just because her past was rough didn't mean Alice would close up and she when in the right frame of mind could talk to anybody.

"I could also do with getting a tennis skirt so we could pick out tennis gear together. The mall doesn't close for a few hours yet" she advised. She felt things were going in the right direction. The coffee was waking her up and she felt able to keep going for a good while yet. She was almost able to ignore the pain in her wings too now her back was easing. Her running gear had shorts that didn't hide anything so a skirt would be a good idea.

Alice had the time not just to wait until Mallory finished her donut but also to spend that much time with her. As they had to closing time there would be enough time to check out the options, whittle them down to a couple and probally end up at the first shop they looked in. Thus was the way of shopping.

Also add on warmer running shorts that were baggier and trainer socks to that list. Yup that seemed to be everything she needed tonight.

"I can wait Mallory and I do have the time this evening. So its all good" she replied. Her time was her own for a while and there was even time after this to study once she got back to the hotel.
