Matthew walks into to this party after he got done informing the secret service that he and his wife would be leaving in the morning rumors of senator Parker having the information that he had tried to talk young David into helping his group he knew the Ashford family knew now that there was a group working against them o will nothing they could do there network was world wide even if there was something he didn't know of he was using his group any way He walks over to his wife "see anything interesting my love ? "I do tend to notice things in my job" Alice gently replied. You'd never guess what she did given the way she was dressed now and she added "in this paradise we need everyone. This island is so different from any another part of the world. Its the only chance our kind have to make a better future for themselves". This paradise had to work otherwise people like Alice herself would find themselves caged again just for being different. Alice knew it wasn't just about the people here now; it was more about who would end up here in the future. That generation would finish the work that had been started. Now his dog was settled for the night David was able to join the party. Given he wasn't quite sure how dressy this would be he compromised for a variation on a suit; black trousers, red jacket and black shirt. When he arrived the waiters were doing their rounds with alcohol and food and he settled for a glass of champagne and a little plate of nibbles. He certain recognised the senator along with a person he presumed to be his wife and any resepct he had for the guy went out the window once he proved to an errand boy for them. If he was able to vote in his state David's vote would have been going to the other candidate.
Anyway at present he would start with a good look round and his nibbles.

"Good thing I thought to pick out something nice to wear for once," Lynn whispered as she arrived at the Ashford Arms ballroom, dressed to celebrate the New Year as only she could. It hadn't even occurred to her to get out more often, having spent the bulk of the past few months getting used to the swing of things on the Island. Things are just so....different, here, she mused. It wasn't just the Island itself; like a lot of Oddities she'd heard a lot about Ashford Isle and what they were attempting to build here; while she was suspicious of their motives, she also knew that her options outside of the Island were limited. Drink in hand (sparkling fruit punch for her), Lynn mingled with the partygoers, the night's music playing softly in the background. Glancing around, she spotted a familiar face from one of the two hotels island newcomers stayed at on the Island and began walking towards her. Finally, someone to talk to, she thought.

The truth was that he needed to get better at people but sometimes he just went quiet and people seen that as awkward but that was okay. Alice smiled back when Lynn introduced her herself and she did likewise once Clark gave his greetings. "Pleased to meet you Lynn. I'm Alice" she said finding she was nearly at the end of her glass too. Things were certainly building up and two had now become three. Things like this tended to happen at parties in general; even the fancy ones. Hearing Lynn was still getting used to things here Alice could understand that. She had a settled career now and not everybody got settled that quickly. She did have plan for the end of the night but this was mid party and things would continue to unfold.She'd embrace the chaos if it happened. "so what do you think you'll get up too once you settled?" she posed to Lynn and then looked back to Clark adding "I'll need to get another Champagne. Do you want another drink while I'm up there?"
