life goes on (David)

Ella did seem like a natural when it came to island life and dealing with people. She seemed like a natural on a boat too as once they arrived at the marina and through the gate it didn't take long to get to the their yacht. "She certainly is. She really loves living here by the looks of it. We did great" he replied as Ella babbled away to her parents.

So with the stroller on deck she could be let out with both parents watching out for her. "Momma, out" she called in her little voice. David popped below decks to see how much food there was; perhaps enough to cook lunch with and save them a grocery run. Failing that they could always order a pizza.

Hearing his daughter being so happy David had a look round the galley and they might get lucky for lunch.

“I can make Mac and cheese up for lunch. We have that already” he called up and then got back on deck.

Ella liked some of the food they liked as well. It was basic but simple as David replied “give me twenty minutes in that case”. He loved Peyton so completely and Ella took after the both of them. Making sure she had a good future was a priority for him as well.

So heading back to the galley he started. At least the cheese sauce was in a jar ready to go. The macaroni just needed the water to boil up.

So as his daughter played with momma David got to work. When he came up on deck with their lunch on a tray Ella was being active and enjoying the sunny day. Their little girl would be something special but she could have fun without being under pressure.

“The small plate is Ella’s my love” he replied. Peyton and Ella combined made his world and hopefully she’d have a sibling in the future.

Ella's plate would need to cool a little first but this was something she could handle for lunch. "She does want to come back for Christmas. Also some more of the clan might find their way over here. I can't even keep track of all my extended family but they tend to cluster round Dublin and county Donegal.

She's also enjoying her current trip as brief as it is" he replied. Having family over felt good.

David always knew other family could get here but a trip to Ireland was also a possibility. He just wasn’t sure it was a good idea right now. Strife was supposed to have been wiped out and they were in Ireland before being defeated. Given the state of the UK and the madness of its current government he figured they’d be better going to Peyton’s country.

“We thought Strife had been defeated and they were driven out of Ireland. It dosen’t feel safe right now and that crazy Tory government dosen’t make my old home feel safe either. If things improve by next summer we should go” David replied. Time was what would matter and surely in a year things would improve. He’d still make enquiries about getting Ella travel documents from local authorities and a UK passport all the same.

“In the meantime we can be hosts” he added with a little smile. A lot was going on in the world and the People’s Republic of China was in the region demanding territory. The US and the UN seemed to be doing nothing and so their home was also being threatened.

“She’s getting to know Oliver. I just hope he can deal with her”. An Irish mother was a lot to deal with especially with her grandchild in tow.

“I’m sure Oliver will open up. Perhaps it’s his job that’s the problem. At least we can switch off from work but at least he deserves a bit of love” David replied. Now able to see Ella getting lunch he started on his own Mac and cheese.

“I think we’re more likely to have one of the clan over here once they get to the US. Occasionally they choose there as their university” he added. The obvious choice was the UK and that was a mess. A change of government might do the trick but he doubted it.
