"By the time she's six she'll be asking for a pony" David chuckled. Ella was figuring out words and what ones to use to make herself understood. "She knows what she likes even getting some of my breakfast" he added. He had seen her grabbing some scrambled egg fragments before as she was learning to eat with her fingers. A good sign for the future. Regarding his mother she was at least owed a holiday by now; so two weeks was possible. "I'll suggest a two week holiday to her first of all. Then when she comes over at Christmas she might have a better idea about here but she left Dublin when she was 18 to make a better life for herself. She finally had everyone's food fixed and handed David a plate while putting Ella's in the middle but close enough so she could reach it if she wanted. Ella was sitting on her fathers lap and grabbing the egg in her hands of her plate. Two times out of three it reached her mouth but that was still progress. "We can get the guest room ready quickly but she dosen't know yet about our plans yet. That's something we can tell her when she gets here" David replied ready for his own breakfast. "Thanks Peyton" David replied as the little egg eater found herself lifted up and able to finish of her egg that way. So eating his own breakfast he did add "they might get on well together. Perhaps once she gets here would be a good time or else wait till the Christmas holidays". The time frame was uncertain but Peyton's mom was starting to be a bigger part of the family now. “I’m sure you’ll think of something good closer the time” David replied. He hadn’t seen his mother in law too often but he figured things would resolve themselves in time. She did not feel any pressure to put something together that was good for the small family but that did not mean that she did not want it to be good which could put more stress than was needed. Now breakfast was sorted out it was time to get Ella ready for the day now she was fed. “Let’s get Ella ready to face the day” he suggested “Ella, bath time” he added with a smile and this little lady knew what that meant. That was getting easier as she grew and Ella did like splashing in the bath. With a bit of planning they wouldn’t need as much things for a second baby. Already Ella’s clothes she’d grown out off were in storage. David also had a question as he asked Peyton “should we go down to the boat on we’re all ready?” They didn’t have to go out on it but even parked up in the marina they could relax on deck and enjoy the morning. The first sailing run on the yacht had been quite informative. The little engine had gotten them out so he knew he'd need to check the fuel and get more gas for the tank if it was depleted. Food they could store like dried noodles or pasta would be helpful as well. "She'll be as cute as a button as usual. We might have to do some food restocking after the last trip but we can just sit on the deck and enjoy the sunshine if you don't want to take her out" David suggested as he scooped up Ella. So a bath time and a cute dress later they were able to get Ella organised then get organised themselves. He was getting well used to baggy shirts and long shorts by now. “We’ll need dry food like pasta and rice to cook in the galley. Adding those to our groceries should be just fine” David replied. “I can make up the pasta sauce myself for when we go out”. They made a great couple. David couldn't deny that so he replied "a healthy dessert sounds good. Lets do that". So there was time to go to a store and get what they needed before they relaxed on the boat. They wouldn't be the only ones either as the marina was fairly full right now. Tourists still sailed their boats here but there seemed no rush to anything; as relaxed as they could get as Ella looked curiously round her. Peyton Coldstone |
