She had been busy but she was going to always do what she could in order to keep her word and today that meant taking a break from everything and seeing what Largo was up to. She had not meant to fall out of contact with him but she was ever so well busy as a bee as she was outside in the small fields just right outside the islands seeing if she could gather any honey. She decided to give Largo a call and see if he would pick up as she watched the bees buzz around her. Largo Vasquez |

Things like this happened in life. By the time Betty phoned he was getting an afternoon iced tea and marking the work of the summer school unfortunates. He shook his head as some hadn’t improved at all while others clearly had gotten into their heads that they needed to put the work in. There was five who would have to repeat their school year if there wasn’t some kind of miracle in their favour. Anyway he heard his phone ring and seen it was Betty. “Hello Betty. How are you?” he replied sounding quite relaxed. Time with Ula was the reason why and she was helping him get used to being found adults again as weird as it may sound. Betty Carter |

"I'm good Betty. Just doing some summer school marking. Some of these students will need a miracle on the level of Bill and Ted to not have to repeat a school year" he cheerfully replied. Though he did feel sad for the students in question. "It sounds like the bees are being busy as well. When do you think you'll have all the honey gathered?" he posed as he tried to work out how long Betty would need and that would dictate when they could do something later on. Betty Carter |

That time frame set up something round dinnertime and this island did have a lot of good places to eat and drink. "What do you think about dinner later on?" he posed. He was interested in joining her later on and the last time they were together was when a seagull tried to steal his lunch. So hopefully no repeat of that this evening. Betty Carter |

She was the bane of what it meant to always take too long and make decisions which drove to her working so much but she did like having Largo as a friend. There was something about him that always seemed to hit the spot when it came to talking and just letting life unfold itself. "If you can give me a couple of hours I can make it a possibility." "A couple of hours sounds good to me. I can ring back in two hours and collect you then. I know a place you don't need to book" he replied as his voice came through her phone. He sounded cheerful and relaxed and they'd get their chance to relax away from their work. He also had to deal with a changing family situation and he would deal with it for his daughters sake. He was so nice and it seemed as if he planned things or at least were very knowledgeable of things. "That sounds good. I need to try more food out here anyway and get out more. All I know is that trying to do things here while keeping up with the bees does keep me busy but I do love i t none the less." She paused and then went on. "I"ll see you in a couple of hours." A couple of hours had rolled by and he was driving to Betty's farm. He wasn't quite sure what to call a place you looked after bees but a farm was close enough for him. She knew that she had been so busy but she was taking more time now and everything was once again truly settled in her life so she had time for friends which she view as a good thing. Something for the family to deal with and his daughter had his full support. "I suppose happy and contented bees make more honey" he mused as he opened the car door for her. He'd seen enough situations like teenage pregnancies on the TV before. This time there wasn't a script writer to leave a neat and happy ending. For starters he hoped Estella and Kyle still liked each other and that they wanted to be a couple with a baby on the way. It also had had quite a surprise that he was was dealing with and was sure his daughter could handle it too. "It was quite a surprise to hear it but I know I can be there to help Estella. The boy does seem responsible for his age and does have a plan for the future. One that has changed" he replied. It wasn't stressing him but he knew it wouldn't be easy with so many factors still to discover. "You see this on the TV but never think you'll have to deal with it. My daughter is a daddies girl so takes a lot after me; I'm sure she'll deal with it too". Betty Carter |
