 "Good morning," Dr. McMillan said to the receptionist as he entered the ARI Rehab Center, taking a moment to check his messages before heading to his office, backpack over his shoulder. Entering his office, he took off his jacket and hung it up on a hook on the back of the door, taking a moment to boot up his desktop computer. As the computer spun up he took a few minutes to brew a pot of coffee and took a moment to look at the schedule for the day. Fun times at the Rehab Center, he mused, breathing in the scent of freshly-brewed coffee and ready to get the day underway. |

Just because she had the ability to talk to animals did not mean that it was always fun as she had chanced upon a nasty encounter that had broken her arm and now she had to rehab it. She was new to the island other than that and so going in she witnessed someone going into his office. She had been told that she needed to start talking to people in order to not make friends but get to know some of the people around the island more. She took a second to knock. "Excuse me," she said as she could start to smell the coffee. "Is there any way that I could get a cup of coffee once it is done?" Joe McMillan |

She had been told that she needed to start talking to people in order to not make friends but get to know some of the people around the island more. She took a second to knock. "Excuse me," she said as she could start to smell the coffee. "Is there any way that I could get a cup of coffee once it is done?""Yeah, sure, help yourself," Joe replied, beckoning her inside his office. "Should be ready in a just a moment," he added, in a tone that read as a mix of friendly, assertive and dominant. As he quickly scanned the files listed on the schedule, he said, "I'm Joe McMillan, one of the doctors here at the rehab center. And you are by chance?" taking a moment to admire her as he waited for an answer. Blair King

Normally Blair did not approach strangers even if they did work at a place. "Thank you" she said. "Oh I am Blair I just started working for the research institute and had a very small accident that needed a little rehab so here I am." Her story was simple because she liked to keep it that way. "Hard to pass up coffee, especially when you get around to the smell." Joe McMillan |

"nice to meet you, Blair," Joe replied, getting up from his desk and pouring himself a cup of coffee. Hearing of her accident piqued his interest and he asked, "What happened, if I may ask?" He was new to the rehab center too and was still getting up to speed with everything. Blair King |

"I helped fight off a pick pocket and had gotten a broken arm in the process. I did not really believe that I needed the rehab but my job said I did and I did not want to make a bad impression first few days on the job so here we are." She appreciated doctors because she knew the world needed them. He seemed new maybe nervous because he had not had many patients yet that was something that she thought she could easily understand. It was not long before he confirmed it and she spoke. "Well it is big but do not let it intimidate you that is the best advice that I can give anyone." Joe McMillan |
