putting up posters (open)

Having only just walked in the front door it wasn't quiet for long. Madison heard a voice and looked round taking care not to drop the posters. There was quite a few of them for here.

Said voice belonged to a young woman who offered to help. She wouldn't say no and she might well get to know somebody else in the process.

"I would certainly appreciate some help. I'm from the fitness centre and there are teenage age group activities now available; or there is also the option of the teenage pass which allows you to do anything when you want to" Madison replied putting everything down in a sofa for now.

Then she introduced herself in a cheerful manner. "I'm Madison Quinzell. Pleased to meet you".

“Pleased to meet you Daphne” Madison replied. Then looked round the big open plan room. Other doors branched off from this but this still looked like somewhere everybody would pass at some point in the day.

“I think this would be a good point to start then”. The posters told you most of what you’d need to know and you found out the rest when you phoned or looked online which you had to do to book these.

“Would you find any of those activities interesting?” she cheerfully posed as she unrolled the poster for the dance studio. It showed more than just dancers as you could use the space in different ways.

With help it didn’t take long to get the posters up in here. The full range of activities were laid out but she had a feeling that Daphne might be into a few activities. She was allowed to spend a bit of time here so got to sit down with her travel mug.

“I coach the track and field along with tennis. So you’ll see me outside quite a bit but as you can see there are plenty of activities on offer. The dance studio is the most recent activity but before long there will be beach volleyball on offer. Another colleague of mine runs that” Madison replied with a smile. She usually sounded relaxed and open even when she felt busy. She still did gymnastics as a personal thing but it has been serious in her late teen years.

Information being out there was good. Then you could make an informed choice about what you wanted to do or not do. That was life in general but most people she knew did want to get out there and live life.

She only knew the basics about here but figured there would be more teenagers in one place than anywhere in the island. Which was why she had asked permission to put up the posters here. She did have a question and asked “Daphne, is there anywhere I can make some iced tea? Also do you get to do what you want here?”

There was a place she could make tea. That was good news. So was hearing that Daphne got what she needed which presumable also meant freedom. She had been under a curfew growing up so didn’t think the orphanage would be any different.

“That is good to hear. I got what I needed to growing up. I only really got to know how expensive life is when I went to college. My parents helped a bit but I worked my way through it” she replied as she headed to where the tea and kettle was.

“I even had to do two sets of drug trials to get through that first year though I was a barista too some of the time. You don’t forget things like that “.

She’d just have to load the hot tea with ice cubes but the effect would be the same.

Madison smiled back at Daphne. She did know most of the people here would be round ten up to eighteen. Then some younger children and some adults so there would be plenty of people to see these posters.

“Then I hope your sister gets her wish. It’s a skilful job but unappreciated on the whole. Then you have the customers who are impatient, demanding or not precise enough. A lot of it is dealing with people” she replied as she emerged with her mug of iced tea.
