28 voicemails later - Madison

Madison was out getting her food shopping done before she had to go to work. So hadn't even dealt with her phone while she was going round the west side market that was past the marina. So with a full shopping basket which had a selection of vegetable and three types of wrapped up fish she finally got a chance to sit down with a coffee at a cafe.

Taking it of silent mode she got to check her texts, emails and voice mails in turn. What alarmed her was the sheer number of voicemails and she listened to the first few. All from her brother.

So it sounded urgent. Being a practical woman she rang him back. "What's happening Taylor? You have my attention now" she asked once he picked up. She did sound concerned too.

So listening to her brother on the phone she replied "the water round here is perfectly normal and drinkable. Even better than what you'd get back home. I figure it's my sister in law doing it to you. She's isn't any normal woman as you know.

I also doubt you will have to worry much about it. Perhaps you two are getting closer after all and someday I'll be an auntie?"

He could hear her chuckling a little on his phone. "Or do I need to get the Barry White CD out?" she teased further.

"Our dad swears by the power of Barry White. Remember that brother of mine" she replied. A quirk of her father she supposed who wasn't just a strait laced catholic and hard nosed business man. She figured she'd done him a favour by not being in the way and travelling her own path.

"I'm also happy to hear that. It was equipment" she added thinking a very different thing. At least he hadn't opened his surprise from Cami. That would have been a disaster.

Then came a piece of good news. "That is good news. What is the job you applied for?" she asked.

Madison nodded as she listened which was pointless as this was a phone call. "Dad will be happy to hear about that. Ships and travel sound good too. And army training? You'll be full of surprises" she replied. She hadn't anything like that but still could swing a bat quite fast and make it hurt.

A big smile Taylor wouldn't see crossed Madison's face as she replied. She worried about quite a few people and chief of these was her family and Mallory. Once she married her girlfriend Mallory would be part of the Quinzell's but this couple were happy to take their time.

"Don't loose your own ideas while you're trying to listen to others" she advised. Then added "you just might have needed a change of scene and love seemed to get you here". She couldn't have done what he had as she tended to plan things a little even if they looked like she was less organised. The love she felt for the brother was complete and there for him even if things had been a bit strange lately.

"I would be so happy if we both could stay here. It would be like old times before I went to university" she added and if the gods were with Taylor and Cami there's also be a baby around. Then she could be the cool auntie and be able to help them out too.

Taylor sounded quite hopeful as they kept talking and then Mallory was mentioned. "At least things sound better for you here. You even sound more relaxed than you used to be since you got here. Also Mallory is quite interesting; I'll admit that. We met when she came to me as a student and things just happened from there. Pancakes and waffles sealed the deal and its gotten better as time goes on.

You'll find that with Cami as you get to know each other" she replied. She had love for her Mallory just as Taylor loved Cami.

Madison laughed hearing what her brother had to say. "You could try doing things as a normal couple if you wanted too. Which may or may not work for you. You won't know until you try it" she posed.

Then she added "It's not fair to ask her to stay of women if you are going to the slums. You did things slightly back to front so the next step is going on dates".
