Alice would normally use the tennis courts, gym or running track for her physical exercise. She still played tennis with pre-arranged games generally with Ashford PD people and it came to mind that she should ask Mallory. It would both get them out and they hadn't done anything in a while.
Recent experiences Shadowman aside had been showing her how close to a martyrs death she was getting. Tangling with the forementioned man had nearly been the end of her. She needed to up her game so ran something similar to a kata with the police officer who ran the women's self defence course. They'd ran through lesson one tonight but even doing the basics was helpful. In turn she could help them out later on. Her own combat style was part US military, a pinch or two of dirty fighting and learning police restraint techniques when she arrived here. It was a mess of a style but she could improve it.
Even after that hour of hard work Alice wasn't done so kept on going with an baton against and her unloaded pistol against an invisible enemy. Mock shooting with her left hand and swinging the baton like it was a short sword she was even adding short hop flight to the mix. And this was why she needed to practice this. it was harder to fly this way than it was to just keep going in a straight line or even up and down. Anybody watching this dance of death might well be surprised. She was a whirl of motion and colour as her yellow and black gym gear that was part halterneck top and skin tight shorts could be quite a distraction.

She found that she was still looking for a job but that she was going to look around and get to know the island a little bit more because she did not want to be a lost person on this island forever. As she had looked around she had managed to come across the dance studio. She had never been good at dance but she was not going to shy away from it as she walked in. She was not surprised to find that someone else was here but she was going to be quiet since she was not exactly sure how it was to be scheduled or if people just came in as they felt free since she thought that either way could work so she took a seat in the corner. Alice wrapped up her routine that a gymnast would have no hope of pulling off with a high kick, a little bit of flight and fluttering down to land neatly on her bare feet. It was only then she realised she had company and put her unloaded pistol and baton on the spot she landed. Having worked hard she looked a little messy at least. Wasn't that always the way after a workout? Taking a better look she realised it was another woman. She also look ready for activity and Alice being a friendly sort of person strolled over. This kind of rubbed of on her the longer she'd been here and she'd do the same for others. The world might not think being nice to people would change things but it certainly couldn't hurt to do it. "I am fine sorry if I disturbed you. I was looking around and seen this place here and thought that I would pop in and see what was going on." She was still on the job search and she was even considering possibly getting two because there was so much that she wanted to do on the island. "My name is Ryleigh" she finally said. Alice didn't see anything wrong with being curious. The woman looked interesting in what she had been doing and she smiled back. "Hello Ryleigh, I'm Alice. I'm multi-sport as I also do tennis and track and field. A sporting interest is kind of encouraged round here" she cheerfully mused and it also important when it came to her job. The main reason why she'd put that test of her abilities out on the floor. "Thank you again. I'm in the security services and I need to be prepared for my duties" she added. She was taking a minute and then she spoke. "I am trying to find a way to get into more sports but it is hard because I am still figuring a lot out but I am looking around and seeing what speaks to me." Security services seemed like a nice job but dangerous. She actually needed to see what all was offerend. "I used to dance in high school but I have not in the past few years still I don't expect that my heart was out of it I hope it is that you can still learn it if you need it." Alice Seraphim |

Alice understood why you'd need to see everything yourself before you picked an activity. If all failed there was always the gym but while effective it was hard to make that fun. Previous dance experience sounded interesting but Alice hadn't ever been to a High School never mind doing dance. She still had a high school level of education since she army nurses loved and took care of her. There was only her word she'd done it though. "You should be able to still find a spark of interest from your previous dance experiences. I use dance to explore my melee fighting and self defence but it makes it more fun. "Mostly ballroom and partner" she said. "My brother and I we used to do it together, at first it was because our parents made us but then we both liked it so it continued on." Thinking about it did make her smile as she spoke again. "He was supposed to show up here and it seemed like he got checked in but I have yet to see him." She did sound sad as she went on. Alice noted what Ryleigh had to say but something didn't sound right. She'd figure out what later on. "That kind of dancing sounds like fun". Then Ryleigh made a suggestion and Alice replied with a little smile. "It sounds like you might be able to teach me a thing or two about ballroom" she mused. "Did your brother check into the hotel? Ryleigh had not chose to think about it but maybe she did need to talk to someone about it. "Well," she paused and then went on. "I could teach you about the ballroom if you needed or wanted we can perhaps find a time that both of our schedules will fix." "As far as my brother I am not person who is well with clues but it still seems strange. When I asked the woman ( Avery Ashford tag just so she can see her mention) she told me that Chester had checked in. However I never seen him. She also went on to tell me that Chester's belongings had showed up and also went past clearance. I have no way of getting his belongings because at the moment I am in the middle of renting a leased apartment but I think once that is official they will let me because I will have a place to put them." Alice looked thoughtful while she listened. Work did have a habit of finding her when she was off-duty but she could make enquiries. It may or may not help that the Security Services were the Ashford's private army and there was plenty she never heard about. So Avery ultimately was her direct boss but there was processes she could follow to get answers. "I'll give you my card so you can contact me later once I get back to my apartment. Better still come home with me so I know what to look for and ask about. This looks like a missing person case to me" she gently replied. This way would probably be better if Ryleigh felt able to trust her. If not she could still ring her in her morning. "We can see about ballroom lessons a bit later on as well" she added. She had heard about people going missing and she did not see why it could not happen here. "That sounds fine," she said as she heard her speak about it being a missing person. "Right now I think that would be better than him being dead." She did not want to think about that because she would hate it and the island."Yeah whenver is good I just am trying to find a way to keep my mind busy." Ryleigh was correct and people went missing and did so all over the planet. Therefore if you followed established procedure you just get an answer; perhaps not the one you were looking for but there was the possibility of it staying a cold case and them missing. "Ryleigh, if you can give me ten minutes I will be back with you after my shower. Then I can open an investigation. We don't know what has happened yet so don't lose hope" she softly said. Alice felt like she had an impossible job to do but as long as did some good it was worth it. "Normally you would start with reporting a missing persons case to the Ashford Police Department so we can start there. Do you have a photo of your brother for starters?" she added. She'd at least get the ball rolling and push this case as far as she could in little time she'd have with it. Ultimately it was the PD detectives who would resolve it one way or another. Heck this was not how she thought that her day would turn out but even she knew that it was better to feel as if you had a lead somewhere than to feel like you had nothing. "Okay," she said as she gave the young lady enough time to shower. If she could find Chester or at least know that he was not dead then she felt like she would feel better. Alice returned wearing a yellow dress with flat shoes and a zip up black hoodie. She also had her sports bag and giving Ryleigh her card to enable future contact used her own phone to take a picture of her brother. The card would tell Ryleigh she was Lead Detective Alice Seraphim of the Security Services Investigation Department. She still only could influence small cogs in the machine but she could tell the PD to pay more attention to this case. She'd also slipped her pistol and their magazines back into the shoulder holster and figured out a course of action. "I'll come back for the bike later. The police precinct is five blocks away and we can get this case started" she replied and then they were on their way. About thirty minutes later Alice was with Ryleigh in an interview room and a female detective. Ryleigh got to tell her story to the PD detective and Alice send her copy of the photo to her. The wheels would now start turning with Alice taking the chance to start with a call to immigration. She couldn't do much on a PD case unless they asked her but she could give her colleague a hand.
