With the spring coming it would soon be time for more sports even on the island and that did make him feel good especially since he thought that people were better when it was warmer despite everything else they were going through. He had felt that same way when it came to him and David. "Keeping the mind sharp is always something that I think is good too, you know if you do not use it you lose it and no one needs to lose anything that they can use for good." David Lightfeather

The game had continued as a safety battle had evolved from the balls being tied up so David had gotten the first round in anyway. So he played a shot with a bit too much force that finally loosed up two of the stubborn balls and given Graysen a pot to aim for. "Yeah, my job tends to do that anyway" he mused before drinking some of his beer. "I also find I need to keep active given I'm sitting down most of the day. If I want to keep a strong transformation I need to keep going to the gym" he added. Even a little extra muscle mass and strength would be helpful for somebody like David and that would still take work. Then a thought struck him. "The last time I was at the fitness centre I seen a poster on the notice board. Apparently they've now got baseball batting and pitching cages out by the running track". It wasn't a full field to play in but surely better than nothing. Graysen Maddox

He watched the shot and then he took a second to speak because the last thing that he wanted to do was to not pay attention. "I am supposed to be meeting with this girl about the baseball game so maybe I will be able to do that soon and then I can get everyone together or I can at least see who wants to come out and see what we can get into," he said as he studied the table. "If you want an invite let me know and we can get something sorted out to say the least. I think it will do everyone good and not to mention they will also be able to just come out and enjoy hopefully a good day." He listened on. "Oh really? Yeah that sounds great honestly." David knew Mallory had been thinking about the same thing so maybe Graysen was talking about her. He'd find out in due course as he knew he wanted in and to know more. "Please let me have an invite and in the meantime we could do the baseball cages for our next guys night out. We'll just need a carryout for later on once we're done" David mused while Graysen considered the state of the table and his next few potential shots. "I don't think baseball is much different from cricket so some skills might carry over". Graysen Maddox

This atmosphere was almost electric as he took a second to take it all in. At the end of the day he knew that the world between humans and oddities was different because it had no choice but still there were times like this where none of that mattered and Graysen had experienced a lot of those in his life and he did like it. "You know the best part of hanging out is the food. I mean the vibes are good too and of course the memories and the idea of what might get to be known as tradition exists too but eating over priced food and playing games in a bar is truly fantastic." Simple things in the end they did matter the most. None the less he took a shot and did not get it in this time. "And the fact that one can work out how bad they are without fear," he said as he laughed. "That is true, skills learned in one place can always help in another." David Lightfeather

When Graysen took his shot the ball didn't sink but the table was still pretty tied up. Even with potting the ball Graysen had missed David couldn't get a pot attempt on the next one so put his friend into a partial half ball snooker instead of carrying on the break. "Yeah bars and pubs don't seem to change that much no matter where they are. Especially the food and the mystery meat pies" David mused and chuckled a little remembering the pubs in Birmingham he'd left behind. Most of the one he was in easy range off did food as well as well as drink and your pub pie was clearly as overpriced as the nacos the bar served up. So that wasn't going to change. "Very true Graysen. You can make mistakes playing here and it won't cost as much. Mind you this isn't exactly the Mosconi cup" he added. It wouldn't take much to turn a fast bowler in cricket into a pitcher and David had dabbled with bowling in school. A pity he couldn't bat to save his life so that would have to improve quite a lot if he ever got to play softball or baseball. "In cricket the ball needs to land rather than pitching it straight but it can still move quite quickly and hurt if it hits you. So no reason why I couldn't give it a go here. I was a bowler and a rather poor batsman in school; its mostly a summer sport so one can play rugby too". Graysen Maddox

The nights out were wonderful and he hoped that they never changed as in he hoped that they never got too busy and he watched David. He did not know if most people seen it but David seemed to have such just a relaxed aura around himself and he did like that though they both could use a little bit to say about sports but at least the two of them liked to talk about it. "Cricket sounds wonderful not to mention rugby too," he said. Maybe he loved sports more than he had thought about before either way he knew it was almost embedded into his dna. David Lightfeather

The evening did roll on with more beer being drank and pool being played. It looked like they were both getting better the longer they played. At present they were discussing the finer points of baseball; David was lacking the detail but he did get the basic aspects of it. "So how do you change from a fast ball to a curve ball for example?" he posed. He was having fun too and so was Graysen by the look of it. Graysen Maddox
