Sir David's Ambitions In The DT-Verse

Born into the oldest of British peerages, a peerage so old it dates back to the 1550's, more than 150 years before the Act of Union between England and Scotland, David Winchester, on the surface, is the epitome of what a Peer of the Realm is supposed to be. Inside, though, beats the heart of an Oddity who wishes to see Oddities become pre-eminent on the Earth, over those more "primitive" humans who walked the Earth. As he once put it so bluntly to an American politician once years ago, "Oddities have inhabited the earth since time immemorial; heck, Senator Parker, your kind worships one of them, a Nazarene gentlemen who 2,000 years ago walked on water at the Sea of Galilee..."

To further his ambitions, Sir David - David to his close friends and wife Allison, or more simply, Father/Dad to his one daughter (and heir to the Peerage) Dana Sienna Winchester - started what was then, back in the early 1950's, a small British aerospace systems company known as Winchester Systems (officially known as Winchester Defence Systems). The company initially specialized in aircraft systems support, though it also began building its' own aircraft, the Winchester Dash Series of turbo-prop aircraft which have become ubiquitous in global aviation.

However, as his ambitions have expanded, so too has Winchester Systems. Branching out into engineering, weapons and life sciences, Sir David financed the creation of engineering facilities on the Rivers Tyne and Mersey in the UK, medical endowments on the European and North American continents and advanced weaponry, including the first practical railgun technology for use on naval warships, the British Mk.1-RG railgun currently being outfitted on Royal Navy warships (among other things).

Basically, he believes Oddities should rule the Earth over mortal humans and he will stop at nothing to accomplish this....but, like any successful businessman, he has his share of rivals, the main group of which he plans to visit in short order... "For those of you here in the Royal Liverpool Hall who know me, you know that my ambitions are limitless, that I will strive for greatness in all regards...or I will die trying.
