temples and mall musings (calvin)

Life is weird, you spend most of it wanting, hunting, striving to achieve something. Love, Successful, Wealth or in our case peace. Then once you finally have it, once you climb the mountain what do you have left to do? And in my case do you constantly look down and worry about falling back down again? Despite being assured we are safe in paradise I can't help but constantly look over my show afraid something is about to happen. Scared to embrace relaxation fearing it was a trap and once we down our guard we would be tossed back into some dungeon to be tortured. I was lost in thought as my wife's words just kind of bounced around in my head.  Finally after a few seconds her words came together and I realized she was talking to me, about a temple?

"Uh, I mean sure. Where on earth would we go to find a map though?,"

I shrug my shoulders, it was these moments. Shall, short moments that most may look over or ignore, but these moments alone with my wife looking into her eyes and admiring her beauty that made the entire struggle, made the feeling of  directionless and the paranoia all worth it. 

"So your telling me you want to find a map to an ancient buried or hidden temple in a gift shop down stairs? I mean i don't think that is very likely, maybe just a general map of an island but honestly I am not sure how much of this place is even mapped out. But I mean it wouldn't hurt to go ask around they got kind of a market downstairs we can snoop around in if you want,"

"Not sure when you consider hunting for lost temples and buried treasure a normal thing to do but I get where your coming from,"

I nod and give her a kiss on the cheek

"lets go see what we can get into that doesn't try to kill us shall we?,"

It took only a few minutes for us to make it to the market and it was alot more booths than you would actually think. I smiled and spoke to her "Any stand out to you?,"

"Let's check this booth out it looks ...,"

I pause a bit and rub my chin looking for the right words

"Unique? Come on,"

I grabbed her hand and walked her over towards the booth. It had odd flowers, and strange almost creepy vibe. A few crystal orbs, rocks and cages with spiders, snakes and such in it. I cocked my eyebrow as a short woman addresses me 

"Hello sweetie, are you sure your not lost your not typically the type that shows up at my booth,"

"Oh child no you got it all wrong..," The lady cackles as she moves to the side and motions both of them to look at her booths.

"I'm not used to seeing such pretties in my corner of the market here,"

She smiles a bit and takes a sniff of them both behind there back "I also read fortunes if you two are interested, i can see alot in you two already. Your auras are strong,"

"Oh a sharp tongue to go with that sharp wit," The old lady cackles a bit as she reaches under her table and starts shuffling around "I believe that I may have something that some one of your sensibilities may have use of..," 

I glanced over at my wife to try to get a take on what she was thinking. So far she didn't seem to uneasy, I finally spoke

"So what do you got?,"

The old lady finally comes up and hands me a rolled up parchment "This," she squeals "its free, try not to have to much fun with it," 

The woman gave me a weird vibe but more than likely it was a part of her sells pitch. Make the tourist or new comer feel like there is magic in her so she can get some of the money in their pockets. Still this was free and what was the harm right? My wife opened up the map and I took a long look at it. 

"I think I can find it well enough from the sky? Want to take a flight?,"

It was so good to actually be able to fly in public it almost seemed a shame to not fly.
