The evening Rebecca was just keeping an eye out and on the way to another bar in the area. Her strappy purse contained a knife for defence purposes but she had more than enough power without it. The warm evening meant she was wearing a sleeveless yellow dress and flat sandals and seeing something she was used to seeing round here still got her attention.

Still the sight of a woman who looked like a demoness of hell right down to red skin and a forked tail might frighten anybody. “Is something wrong?” she softly said looking round a bit more. Trouble hadn’t seem to have followed her out yet of the hottest night club in the city.

Just standing with this woman should keep her safe. Especially when it looked like the person with her might be dangerous but as Hilda finally spoke after a few minutes Rebecca knew she'd heard that story before. "You'll be fine now. I've heard that story before as well but did the cocktails catch you out? The rum round here is another level higher compared to the neighbouring islands" she replied.

"So what was the reason for the tears? I'm Rebecca by the way" she posed. Water might help and she'd suggest that if she felt like moving on from outside of the nightclub.

“Hilda, I know how to deal with drinking too much. Some soda and proper food should help” Rebecca suggested. “I was going to a bar but food and drink will do as well” she added with a little smile. Knowing tourists could vanish round here only too easily she wondered just why she’d gotten way too drunk in Mavericks in the first place. Even her own daughter found a case like that before she’d gotten to the orphanage.

“After that I’ll get you home. Where is that by the way?” she posed leading Hilda away from the night club. She knew just the place round here and being with a drunk woman would keep Hilda safe round here.

“There’s a diner like eatery not far from here. You should find something you like” Rebecca suggested to Hilda. “The bar food isn’t up to much unless you just want fries and hotdogs” she added. So that still left two options and she could wait for her beers.

Also knowing Hilda was in the hotel was a great help. Getting her back there would be easy.

Normally she’d have fast food after the beer drinking but tonight would be slightly different because of Hilda’s need. “Alright then. Stick with me and you’ll get house fries with nacho style sauce. They do all the versions of dips you’d expect” Rebecca replied with a big smile with her tail flicking as she walked with Hilda. She worked hard but could enjoy herself. This rough part of town actually felt safe for her but you still needed to keep an eye out for trouble.

So reaching her bar of choice it looked like it was based on the beer garden design with the tables either being undercover of big umbrellas or tarpaulins. Quite an organised set up and it was only really in storm season this was taken down. It only happened once before she came here herself so entering after a little queuing she got fries for the both of them. She also got a bottle of beer and a tall glass. Telling the pretty bar girl their table number they could settle down there while they waited.

“If we can’t look out for each other what kind of island people would we be?” Rebecca posed. It wasn’t just about being neighbourly as she doubted they’d get much help from the outside world. So it was up to people living here to look after each other.

“Are you visiting our planning something more long term?” she also mused ordering their fries and dips. They wouldn’t take long.

There was times Rebecca had to sort out the territorial disputes of slum gangs but that was work that the general public would never hear about. She’d sound angry and dangerous doing that but right now she was charming and friendly.

“This is a good place to build a home. I’ve seen people even moving out of the city and settling down in the villages south of here. Part of my work takes me down there as I run a Security company. Generally security camera setups as it’s just me for now” she replied. Recruitment would follow but she’d need that help sooner rather than later.
