In an attempt to give them a refuge the billionaire Theodore Ashford has created Ashford Isle. Presented as a Sanctuary for the special some believe their to be much darker motives behind his generosity.
Ashford Isle
A state of the art city powered completely by renewable energy, gorgeous modern building erected against the backdrop of a tropical paradise. It has all the luxuries modern technology can afford accompanied by the natural beauty and serenity only nature can provide. This city is open to all Oddities and their families, along with several hundred A.R.I. employees, it boast a modest population of just over 5,000 individuals consisting of a mix between both human and oddity. This wonderful utopia however is shaded in mystery both metaphorically and literally. The United Nations have dispatched several fleets of O.S.E. ships near the island, this gives the coastline a ominous view.

He had been searching for the word to describe what they were but he now had it as he listened and then she started pouring her feelings out and as much as he wanted to roll his eyes and tell her to shut the hell up because how he just sat there for a few minutes. Of all the things she could request and wish, that was it? "Try," he said in a silent echo as almost in a flash she was up and getting cleaning stuff as if she had not expected an answer and talking to him about helping clean up and something that she had did when she felt as if she had nothing but her thoughts. He did not understand why she just did not wish them there, she could. None the less he grabbed his sponge and began to help her clean as he thought about it. "You always have me Daphne." He figured calling her full name would help secure the point that he was trying to make as he scrubbed. He had always been particular about the things in his life even now. "I will try my hardest," he said as he still cleaned as water was running through his hands as he cleaned the mess still. "I would love to see your forest but I already know it's great because when we feel nothing or lost, that is our greatest thinking time." She did seem want to show it off though. "I wish to go see your forest with the condition you leash me again." He picked up his sponge and put it back in the bucket and then stood up. "I'll make it extra easy for you since you don't have Madison and Mallory here to protect you." She had played games with him in Germany, Daphne really and truly did not want this. He shook his hand out and watched as the magic flowed cleaning up the mess and making the area dry as he watched her art materials began to circle around him and he reached out and grabbed a different brush, one with a thinner brush tip as he drew a chair and watched it appear in the middle of the room as he went over and took a seat. "Or were you just showing off Daph?" He would not blame her if she was he had been down right terrible in the end. "Almost be a shame," he said as he hung his head down and shook it. His hair flowed a second and he spoke. "Is what I wish more important than your choice?" He went quiet. "I do not find that to be true at all, so really it's your choice if you want me there in the end isn't it?" He knew they seen it differently this forest she wanted him to see, a painting that she could throw magic on perhaps and watch it come to life? Run through it was that her way of saying she wanted him to run through her thoughts, step into what had been inside her head during her dark time? "Well," he said. "The painting represents your time and your emotions, two things that we barely share with others though we want to so do you really want to share it with me of all people you could choose?" "Thanks," she said as she watched him and shook her head. "Reasons like that are why you never know hard work," she said as she laughed and watched him. "Still soaking up off of my art," she said but she was more okay with it now than she was before as she watched him. "Showing off; Hunter please you say that as if you did not enjoy it. I have known you long enough to know that if you did not you would have broken it, not wore it and as you would say yet here we are." She sat in a dry spot on the floor as he began to talk. She had not thought about that when she had invited. "Well when you put it like that it is my choice but some choices can not be made alone. I think that is the hardest part for me to accept that choices now have to be made with you that concern you so I guess you could say we are on the same page?" Forever it had taken them to get here but in this realization worth it all. "I don't know really Hunter I just thought hey I made this thing when I was at my lowest and it would be good to share it with the person who put me there. Maybe that makes me an idiot or weak but we are a family Hunter something neither of us talks about much." She moved closer to the chair and she could feel happiness in her own self something that no longer depended on him but was there because of him. "It is my choice so," she wanted him to have a chance to know that not everything was evil and not every goal had to be accomplished sometimes you could sit in the trees and just enjoy the view. "Don't be mad," she said as she kicked that chair out from under him. In that second she felt something snap against her hair and slightly pull it back as she looked at him. She watched her art suppllies start to swirl around as the greens splashed in her hair and the light browns hit her face, making a path. She kept her eyes on Hunter as she kicked the chair again and felt it fall but that did not shock her, what shocked her was the clink she heard as she fell down into the void and looked down at her hands. Emerald green cuffs around her wrists as she looked at them and the chain that followed them. "I hope Taylor was right," she said as she watched everything around her turn into forest. Her body tingled being inside of her art work, watching it come to life. It was no secret that Cami was going to come after her especially once she learned about this so she had to get Hunter on her side as she took off her shoes. She was going to have to run through what she had painted once she pulled this chain. She carefully bit her tongue and let the blood fall down into her painting as she counted and then pulled the chain. "Come on you bastard, I have given you everything I need you to protect me now." She had to help Hunter get over his fear so she pulled again. "Come on Hunter," she said as she pulled again. "I know she scared you but I need you to move past it." Her tears flowed in this forest, her pain and her hope spread through out it as she felt it start to move and she ran through the branches that were slowly coming to life, leaving a path of tears. His ears had this trick they sort of perked up a bit when he was truly listening as he pushed his hair back behind his ear and she had very valid points. "I know more about hard work now than I did before," he said but he also knew that it was not going to be ever easy. He was still listening. "About as same page as either one of us gets so yes," he said then she was speaking again and his chair went from other him and he fell. Mad? He felt a little mad but it was quickly replaced more by intrigue rather than anything else as he heard snaps and shook the sounds out of his head as he stood on ground but the territory was unfamiliar but it smelled very nature like and he looked down. "A whole new meaning to the word connected," he said as he felt himself pulled and pulled again. He could slightly hear her words as they were coming around more like whispers as he felt her pull again. "Fucking hell I really wish she would stop pulling me around like a doll," he said as he felt pulled again but he pushed back stepping backwards. He much preferred to keep walking back towards the past instead of looking towards the future at least until he felt water droplets falling into his hair and out of it as he looked down at them. "Of course they are green puddles when they fall," he said as he looked up and shook his head as his hair too turned green and he sighed deeply out of disgust. As his hair turned he could hear the slow rustle of the branches and noticed that they were moving. "For fucking hells' sake Daphne," he said as he watched the branches start to intertwine through the wetness of tears. Ironic, looking at the pain and cut off that he had a part in causing as he carefully began to walk. However Daphne had said it herself, she painted it when she felt at her lowest at least that was how he had heard it and looking at the art, that seemed close enough as he slowly walked. He did not laugh when he spotted her, them chained but still apart by branches and then she was running. That might have been the only thing that he understood as he took a seat between the branches. It hurt because emotions old and new did hurt. It was a forever growth, much like a forest. However for once, there was nothing he could do but watch. Watch pain and growth sitting on branches that did not hold his pain but hers. He put his hands down against the branches and all the pain came through his hands even chained pain could be felt. So he closed his eyes and he sighed, the branches loosening only a little as he sat up against the tree and slowly began to carve into it. Not initials, like most love stories but piano keys in the bark. Rough and rugged but he still placed his fingers on them. "Pain makes us flourish." It was the one thing that he had learned as he looked down at his hands and watched as the cuffs fell off, breaking the chains as he turned around and looked. She could list numerous things that had hurt her; many things in the end that had caused her to shut down but this one particular painting held just a small bit of it all trapped in itself like Daphne had been through every single instance of it just being her and Hunter. The scariest moments are not those where you are alone but those where you are with a person who can and has broken you but then you dig deep and find a way. She could have painted anything something brighter but the darker painting seemed more fitting as she still ran. She wanted out, she wanted an escape but with every run it just grew and grew until she circled back around, sweaty and she too took a seat beside him. "By all signs Hunter, I should hate you. I should not stand the sight of your face because I have fought through branches and through a forest of emotions and still." She could not, not by choice not even by circumstance. Maybe they were simply rooted in hurt and pain and nothing else would make sense and then she noticed the tree and the glowing and she looked at him but she moved back a second, her own cuffs now breaking off as she blinked. It was now one hundred percent confirmed them meeting was no accident. "Hunter?" she said as she looked at the tree and went towards the glow, placing her hand on it. It was cold as ice yet glowed like it should be warm so she turned back to him. "I wish to see this play out." EEK! she thought as the wind around them picked up. Hunter Jaxon-Quinzell |

The hardest part of being a parent? To know your child is hurting and there is nothing you can do about it. So you see as he watched them from a distance he simply knew trails and tribulations were just obstacles that you had to overcome. Hunter had never asked for the crown but being first born? Automatic qualification and Daphne's wishes? Gratification he hoped. It was not okay, the road that Hunter had put himself on to get the girl but vices? Well in it's own way love is a vice. He sighed because it was going to be painful. Anywho. "You what?" Hunter asked as he looked at her. Was she serious because he knew she could feel it. "Daphne it's as cold as ice and you wish to see how it plays out?" She was ever confusing him. "You hate me still and love me still and you wish to see how it play out knowing that?" He wanted to yell at her and slam her damn head into that tree as his eyes widened but he did not. "Fine," he said as he looked at her. "Need you to be still," he said as he moved closer to her and put his cheek against her face. Then he turned and bit her hard on her cheek, slightly enough to draw blood as he pulled back and looked at her. He carefully moved the bite marks around to form an H and then cupped his hand over it as his hand glowed warm. "Still wish to see it play out?". "Yes," she said as she looked at him and felt a comfort but it was not him. It was the location somewhere she had made and brought out of just a canvas and able to be in it to her that was more than able to be in the moment. She felt him biting her and she did give a small flinch. "Quit biting me," she said as she listened to him go on. "That's what I said Hunter," she said as she felt the warmness. "Are you scared?" What was there to be possibly scared of at this point they had shared much more than they ever needed too. "I think it's exciting and a bit out of the box for the both of us which is good, besides if you do find it in yourself to get so scared and scream no one can hear you in the forest," she said as she laughed. "In all seriousness I do wish that." She took the time to press her cheek. "Also you didn't have to bite so damn hard either." She turned and leaned up against the tree. If he was not going to take her on or through it then she needed to put her mind somewhere else. "We need to work on you not biting me. "Aside from the reasons that it is simply not nice, what if I bit you? You'd surely find me in the wrong." She sighed as she spoke. "Biting is bad," she said as she shook her head. "The biting helps," was all he said as he thought. "No I am not scared," he said. "I have been on this island long enough that I realize that it is my home and so that is not anything that I would say I was scared of, this forest though? Daph this is better than my creation and I actually had to make it with my hands." She was dangerous but maybe it was not dangerous like him maybe she could be a good dangerous though he found that to be ironic. He watched her. "I am slowly rubbing off on you," he said in that cocky proud way. "It took me long enough," he said. She could be herself with a little spice because it was like growing. He watched her move and he stayed still for the time being to stay there. "I will work on the biting but I will probably need help with it." Look at him learning to ask her for help as he shook his head. "Ugh you are rubbing off on me too," he said as he looked at her and then he went quiet having a thought. "Well if you wish to see," he said. "Can I borrow your brush, or you know you can make me one of my own?" She needed something though that was she did not feel like he was going to leave her with nothing to have his own brush. "One second," he said as he picked up one of the branches and gently rubbed it across his hands, watching it turn into a dark green palette with jars. He held up his hand indicating please wait a few more seconds as he carefully leaned down and filled the jars with his saliva as the traces of magic filled the jars turned into small genie bottle containers, that held the main seven colors of the rainbow and slightly floated up. "Magic bottled paints for a brush, how does that sound?" Yeah this was getting dangerous as he looked at her. Hey at least they were not hitting one another which was good as he put hs hands down against the forest and watched as the area around him slowly began to turn blue and small baby bluebell flowers began to sprout up as Hunter picked up one and slightly rung it. It sounded as beautiful as it looked. "Deal or no deal?" He put the baby bluebell flower in his hair. "Actually if it's a deal can you just bite me, I want to see if it hurts as bad as you say." She started to ask helps with what but he moved on so she would have to do research about it on her own that was fine. Maybe it was something in his childhood maybe it was just a fun time who knew certainly not her. "Well I do want us to be influences on one another but without changing who we are so that is where I think that we are." She did not think that was bad and she could be the good steer of this if she needed to be. "I can help as much as you allow." "A brush of your own? Hunter," she said. Even she knew that was a bad idea but then he started sweetening the deal and not with dresses and princess gowns and crowns but art supplies. "I want a tiara," she said jokingly as she still watched. There was something germy about Hunter just always playing with his spit that completely turned her off but she stayed quiet. "Sounds pretty good," she said as she knew that she could not give him a brush she had already seen him without one and she did not want to see him with one. "How about I break my brush in half that way your brush can still work but only at half it's power?" From what she had seen he had a lot of power so she did not want to give him too much as she watched the flowers and she could hear them. Germany and going to that museum was a good thing. It had gave her a confidence boost as she looked at him. She was nowhere near an expert biter like it seemed he was so she carefully moved towards him and grabbed his top lip and bit it, until she could taste blood. It did remind her of their time in the theatre space as she put her hands on his face and held his face in place as she ran her hands along the sides of his face in the shape of a d and j in cursive and then let her hands sit along the bottom of his jaw. When she started and ended with his name he thought that she was going to say no but instead her offer was half a brush and half a brush was better than no brush so he agreed slightly and then she was moving towards him. What the hell he had only been kidding about the biting because no, he did the biting not her but then she was biting him on his lip as his eyes widened and he tasted blood too. His eyes rolled in the back of his head as he sat there and did he want to scream, yes but he did not. She was trying to hold him in place and when she did and started trying to mark him he could have easily fought it off and pushed her head into that tree but he did not. It did not bother him as it might have with her. "It's not fair I get initials," he said as he looked at her and felt his magic cover it up. "Guess I will work with it however." He took a second to wipe his lip as many thoughts ran through his head all innocent ones. "Do you find some sort of envy and satisfaction in biting me since you are so against it being done to you?" "I am not scared or hurt or anything negative actually honestly I just thought that it might be some kind of thrill but so far for me nothing. I will keep looking it over in different ways and see if I can look into why you seem to like doing it so much. " She had seen a good bit and to her it just did not seem like it was kink related. "Come on if you are not taking me inside the tree then we have to walk around and take the long way." She did not care for the long routes but maybe they needed it. "Do not bite me again though." She felt like she could only get that through if she truly stuck to telling him that. "I do need to ask you something and I need a one hundred percent answer, what do they sound like when you hear them?" The way she understood it the sounds came and went but were light but she did not know if that was how they sounded for him. She quietly pulled her brush to her and broke it in half and handed it out to him all the while using her other hand to make a bristle end so both brushes would work. "For instance," she said as she began to paint out notes. Up, down, high, and low. "I wish to hear the sounds," she said as she felt her hair pulled and then the light sounds. He stood up and thought about how many miles this walk could take but he started to walk it anyway. He raised his eyebrow when she handed him half the brush and then he watched as she made a workable half for the both of them. The fact that he seemed to be paying attention while here was new to him as he took a minute to think and then shook his head no. "I wish it was so lite," he said as he held the brush up. He decided to draw crunchy shell tacos as he watched them appear and land in his hand. "Want one?" he asked as he drew the sour cream and then stuck the paintbrush behind his ear so he could eat. "Sounds are different and they don't really effect me at least not like a normal oddity," he said. "Playing the piano helps," he said. "Keeps everything sane and quiet but it seems that this place does too. I'd have to go into more of your paintings to see if it's because you painted them or if it's just this nature theme however," he said as he bit the taco. "Love these so much," he said as he crunched down on them. "If I can't bite I'm eating tacos," he said. His magic lifted the paint brush from his ear and the paintbrush began to paint. She was hoping that he had forgotten his taco habit but it was the smallest thing at the moment so she still walked. "No thanks I would consider myself a monster if I took away the joy that you seem to get out of them," she said in a honest second. A door? "A door that would lead to what I want to see." He started to say how the food wasn't really important, how it was in one way but at this moment it was not. Instead he tossed it behind them and watched it dissolve as he thought it hopefully clear on his face how he was thinking. "Okay," he finally said as he knew that what was behind the door was not dangerous per say but it was cold. "Alright," he said as he opened the door and could hear the crack of ice crystals and the sounds of falling water as he stayed for a minute and spoke.  "You're going to want to be careful. Your ability won't work here and mine won't either, but the door will keep them safe and they will work once you go back through." Never knowing what to expect she heard what he said but she went through anyway. She did not know if she could ever be able to tell him but she trusted Hunter with her life.
