"I figure I am going to have to draw up some details maybe even some sketches off the computer to show how beneficial it could truly be but one step at a time and best part of all will be for everyone's use and not just one person's. I figure that is how you feel in your work too?" David Lightfeather

David felt what he did could benefit everyone; even those who hated their kind and the aim of ARI was to improve the world. “What we do can change not just an island but a world. You could do that with sports and improve things round here. Somebody started to expand the facilities round here but you could continue that work” he replied. Some people seemed to be good at planning and perhaps Graysen was one of them. Graysen Maddox

He nodded in agreement because it was true. "It is true it's just a bit scary sometimes to think that you might be changing the world but it is necessary for the children so that is better than anything." David Lightfeather

“We are doing all this work for them. A project crossed my desk and while it’s not strictly my field I think I could contribute something similar in that field. Ever heard of a rocket pack? A Flash Gordon idea but imagine if you could use it for short jump travel round here. It was also in Starship Troopers, a book I found while in University” David replied. He wasn’t an engineer but ARI had these. It did seem to be a matter of making the rockets small enough to be wearable. Graysen Maddox

He nodded as he thought. "Want to go see about a boat rental?" he asked. "I think the children might actually enjoy it plus we can see how they react to being on water. Some might take to it but others might not." He nodded again as he listened to David. "Doable in the end though?" David Lightfeather

“I think that it a great idea. And I think it’s possible. I’ll need to talk to the ARI engineers to see if rockets can be made small enough to wear” David replied. So off they went to find a boat they could hire. “Ella’s been on a bigger boat but let’s see what boats we can find” he added. Graysen Maddox

"I think when it came to anything that was not see life before i got here the only type of boat that my parents allowed me around were paper ones in the tub." Of course now as an adult he understood that it was a different time and that was okay because it was always like that when you had children. "Always want to give them the best that you approve of, of course." David Lightfeather

“Children always deserve the best and we do try and we do try and give them that. I wonder what our options are going to be?” David replied. So looking round they did need a boat that could take four. The search led to something that was a cross between a fishing boat and a one masted boat. It still had an engine to get them out of the marina but two toddlers could take in the views while their fathers got used to sailing this craft. Graysen Maddox

"Fishing boat is probably not as sturdy so do you want to check out the other one a little closer?" He figured that they would be safe and if they did start to topple over just from looking then he was a pretty decent swimmer but the waves seemed okay for the moment. David Lightfeather

Graysen suggested looking at another boat and this one seemed to be better suited and sturdier. More like a proper yacht but not as big as a model rich tourists would have. “I think this might be more suitable. More like a sailing yacht. What do you think?” David asked his friend. Stability was important after all. Graysen Maddox

"I like it and more than that it looks to be in good condition. I can have it checked out and let you know if anything else is wrong since I would not want you to get into anything that might be dangerous no with or without any people." He had heard about people disappearing at sea but he did not have that hope for them thankfully. David Lightfeather

David turned to Graysen as he didn’t know much about boats. “It’s best to check the boat over. The closest I got to boats before coming here was sea swimming while I was a student so there’s a lot to learn” he replied. It was like buying a used car in a way that didn’t change the world over. ‘’Let’s see what it’s like on the inside” he suggested. It would need to be big enough for a few people as he figured one person couldn’t sail this on their own. Graysen Maddox

He checked over his daughter to make sure she was still fine which at the moment she was but he expected she might get cranky soon. "After you," he said. He believed in people going first simply because it was always the polite move. David Lightfeather

Ella was still in the stroller as David replied "lets get the strollers on deck and then we can take a look". So he carried Ella onto deck and then went back for Diana. Now they could take a look below decks. It looked comfortable enough with this reminding David of a camper van. Further back was the space for the engine that was used to keep you going when there was no wind or when you wanted in and out of a harbour. You could pop the hatch above that and steer the yacht from there. "You could sleep here and there's also a little kitchen" he remarked. They weren't full rooms but big enough. Graysen Maddox

Though Graysen was more of a land sports guy he knew some people really took to boating and fishing. "Wait," he said. "You'd actually sleep out on the water?" It did not seem to dangerous. "I was just shocked to hear that for a minute but I guess we sleep around water all the time so no real difference." David Lightfeather
