It had been a while since their daughters had a day out together. David and Graysen had a couples day before this but these little ladies hadn't seen much of each other since the previous summer; unless they ran into each other in daycare. Daughter time also meant daddy time and some things were ruled out but they could have a stroll on the piers, look at the boats and perhaps even go on a tour. There was plenty of options even if they couldn't go to a pub. There was plenty to do on a warm Sunday morning. Graysen Maddox

One of his favorite things to do to past time were indeed spending time with his daughter and honestly being able to do that with David and his own daughter was the good part of it as he pushed the stroller and finally spotted them. "Hello you two," he said. "Hope we are not late." David Lightfeather

A parcel from his mother did help life along and keep a little bit of home going here. So both father and daughter had Exeter Chiefs bucket hats on; his favourite rugby team and she’d also sent him the team shirt which he was wearing with long shorts. Ella had on a mint green dress and gave Graysen a happy sounding noise when she seen her play date partner. “You’re not late. We can wing things from here if you want to but soon we can get lunch. So how is family life treating you?” he replied sounding happy. Two toddling little girls made life fun and interesting. Graysen Maddox

It was a relief to know that he was not late. "Okay good and family life is great," he said. "It stays so busy but all worth it and this was a great idea. I have seen more people coming out to the island lately so I expect population is booming which is good who knows who we might run into?" David Lightfeather

David knew just how busy things could get. He generally took Ella out along with Sparky so she’d go to sleep sooner and his dog would get exercise and fresh air once he finished work. Time with Peyton was also important and just chilling was good for them. “There does seem to be a lot more new people round now. I see new people in the gym and the swimming pool all the time. Then they’ll help add more cute babies to our nation” he replied with a smile as he pushed Ella’s stroller beside the other one. “We do need us time. Our daughters like being round each other too so it makes sense to combine that”. A question came to mind as he posed “do you want to go to the marina first?” Graysen Maddox

He was such relaxed at times he knew that it could scare others off but that was not his intentions at all. "The marina is fine," he said. He did always like being around David because he was intelligent and it was always good. "So how is work, still going good I hope?" he asked as they made their way. David Lightfeather

So heading to the marina it would give Ella and Diana something to look at. “Perhaps someday I might have a boat like that. Or else Ella will be asking for a pony before that. You might even get both on this island” he mused. “And work is still going well. Each project improves the world a little bit more”. He had a feeling he’d be here for the long term and see his little girl grow up here. Ella was pointing at the first boat she seen but hadn’t the word to describe it yet. So looked at them to get that answer. “Boat” David said to his clever little girl. Graysen Maddox

"Owning your own boat is a dream that one could always look back on and if they are able to accomplish it be proud," he said as he adjusted his daughter. "I think naming it would be the hardest part because you would always want a name that sticks out but goals will always be nice plus you could go out sailing whenever you wanted which is a plus." “That’s very true” David replied. “It’ll be good to take out a boat anytime and it could be there for Ella too. I can picture her messing around on a boat once she’s older”. He could take out Peyton and Graysen too if that became a reality. So he’d need one big enough to make local trips rather than just be for coastal sailing. “It might be a while until such a sail boat is on the market. I can wait until that happens”. Graysen Maddox

"Yeah a lot of the people I see around here they are fancy and I mean like upper upper class. Sometimes it is intimidating because I did not come from that lifestyle and to be surrounded by it, it makes you grateful but it also has reminders that one day it could all change. However I always am hopeful because of the children but if you do get a boat like that name it something good." David Lightfeather

The pushing of strollers continued through the marina as they talked and little girls got a good look round. Not just at the boats but the people here. “I grew up in a rural village with a mother who was a lone parent and the post mistress. So I knew very different things than you would have had. I didn’t really see rich people until I got to university but I always wanted the best life I could get. Not just for myself but my mother and now Ella and Peyton. We both want a good life. I’d also like to improve the world as well and we start right here on this island. Who knows how long it takes to own a fancy boat like that but it’s worth aiming for”. Certainly a loftier sim aim than a caravan would be back in the UK but it would be your holiday base for a long time. Graysen Maddox

He adjusted his daughter and nodded. "What improvements are you thinking about?" This was honestly interesting and it did give a person purpose. "I mean you are in science right, that has to be a good start." He looked at it like building from the ground up which in this case was a good thing. David Lightfeather

Looking at Graysen and Diana he considered the question. There was so much to build on here as he replied “you’ve seen for yourself an early step. You became an oddity and ARI can develop in different directions. I’ve seen different peoples research and a lot is possible”. The species could be improved along with the world and the of his own kind there were the better. “There is so much to build on and the job might well be finished by Ella and Diana once they grow up”. He couldn’t give any details but he felt sure he was truely helping to make a better world. Graysen Maddox

He nodded. "Well while you are out there changing the science world, I am going to change well not right away but try to change the sports world, what do you think about putting for the petition to have rugby intergrated into all the other sports. I think it might be able to be done now with some small, affordable island changes." David Lightfeather

David listened to what Graysen had to say. The idea was simple and could be done easily. “I would certainly sign it and you’d just need an extra pitch marked out for starters. Obtain rugby goal posts and other equipment. You don’t even need full teams. Ever heard of Rugby sevens?” The sports centre was the logical place to start and you might find enough players on this island. Even American Footballers could give that a try. Graysen Maddox
