tennis continues (open)

A thought did occur to Madison given the last thing Juana said. “Are you going to be living here for a while? If that is the case once you get settled in why don’t you join us on the next tennis class night? You could have a look round the sports centre and see if there’s something you might like doing” she advised.

Even she knew that it took a while to settle in a new place and there was a lot of new things to get used to.

This was a good place to stay a while. She hadn’t intended to put down roots when she did her masters degree but was happy she did. “That is good to hear and there is plenty to explore round here. I found love here as well as a satisfying career that I never expected” she replied. She could balance work and enjoyment quite easily which she’d trouble doing before.

“Will your sister be staying here too?” she gently posed. It did take a while to work up to an apartment round here.

Madison see Juana’s reaction and smiled. “It was something I never expected to find but I did. I got married last year. It’s something you don’t know when it finds you” she replied. So her sister was here as well. “It’s great to have your sister here. I did find it helpful with my brother being around” she added. Family was important and it was good to have them.

Looking back at Juana a smile formed on Madison’s face. “Just let life unfold in front of you. You can’t predict the results but you can at least set the direction you want to go in” she remarked softly. “I could help you get settled in here as I’m starting to get to know the head woman round here”. She knew Gigi was efficient and wouldn’t let somebody sleep on the sofa on their first night here. “If you leave your things in the kitchen it won’t take long to find out”.

This was something she could do as part of ARI but she was also maternal.

Juana asked about the tennis lessons and even if there was no orphanage booking for the next day she could do this herself. “I could even teach you myself using the standard ten lesson package. Or just even one for starters to see if you like it or not?” Madison posed. “Tomorrow evening would be fine either way”.

Madison knew how much the interest in tennis had helped her when she was younger and she was happy passing in on to others. “You can learn a lot in ten lessons. The first thing is sorting out your feet and your movements and the rest falls into place” she advised with a smile. “I’ll supply the racquet and balls and call for you at 7pm” she added.

Clothes you could move freely in were more important in tennis. Madison was there waiting in a tennis dress and ready to start the lesson. “Good evening Juana. I have all you need right here. We’ll cover the beginnings tonight like getting you moving freely and getting used to hitting the ball” she said. While she was now a scientist you never really gave up this part of your life.
