new to this but not a stranger (Madison)

You could leave a cat to its own devices provided you left its basic needs. Food and water was there along with her climbing frame which doubled as a scratching post. It was dogs who needed a lot more attention so she’d taken Check out on a long walk. A six mile walk in fact that took a few hours given she’d also stopped for a bite to eat. So while poor Check was tired and hungry she was quite energised.

When she entered and let him of the leash the dog scampered off looking for more food stopped when he seen Lilith in her human form. The scent matched up with his memory but not this form. It was seeing his reaction that got Madison’s attention as she hung up her coat.

The woman was wearing her clothes and just sitting and waiting. So moving over to her a question was posed. “Check seems to know you. I should too but perhaps you can enlighten me?”

Madison was clearly curious and given what she knew about catboys, magic and other weirdness such as seeing Mallory’s ability change little would surprise her. Just being here had opened her mind to possibilities.

The ears where what caught Madison’s attention. Shaped like a classical elf but she noted the mannerisms were identical to what she’d observed about Lilith in her cat form. So petting Check first she listened carefully figuring this really was her cat in borrowed clothes. It was just as well all she’d done so far was register her cat in the islands database and chosen the chip in the collar rather than under the skin.

“You appear to be Lilith. Mallory is going to at least have a lot of questions when she finds out what has happened” she softly replied. That’s if she didn’t freak out first. Also everything from sleeping arrangements and beyond would be changed while her cat had a humanoid form.

“So how did this happen?” she posed. She wasn’t going to tell her parents that a cat could turn into a woman. “Also are you hungry yet?”

While Lilith had been in cat form she’d been petted just like Check was; she felt she couldn’t do that now but she did wonder if she’d stay this way. “Do you think you’ll stay in this form?” she asked. “That’s Carter you seen. He’s fine and I’ve seen him around work since then” she added. So still no answer about the why of being in human form. She supposed that question would be answered eventually.

“At least you know where the food is. Do you think you’ll eat what we do now?” she posed trying to figure out one new living arrangement. The sofa would also do for now and Lilith could borrow her clothes in the meantime.

“I do know a cat boy named Gio and magic is around. I’m lacking a reason why we are sitting here talking but I can at least get you extra tuna” Madison replied. Stroking Lilith would be mighty weird now she was in this form which may or may not be permanent.

“It does feel weird to me but I’ve learned while living here to deal with weird things as they happen. So while you look humanoid you might as well enjoy it fully. You can keep borrowing from my wardrobe until we know if this is just a temporary stage of live. It’s weird to stroke you like this” she added. Plus she had a girlfriend who she was going to marry soon.

“You might find somebody else to pet you and in a pleasurable way. All the other things are part of life but here is the only place you’ll find the magic as far as I know. Love, death and business are everywhere” Madison replied to Lilith. “So you have’s always been here? Where you remember being before that? Also do you want some coffee?”

She needed a brew anyway and while this change was in effect things would be different between them. That wasn’t always a bad thing.

Madison didn't have to go far to go to the kitchen so they could continue the conversation. "My father sends me the coffee beans he knows I like from New York. This won't take long" she replied. she could be seen shaking two small scoops of beans into the grinder, the brief noise of that working and then starting her filter coffee off. It would take a few minutes for enough to drip through so she kept talking.

"We all need a job. Starting with something you're good at or think you'll have fun doing is a good start. I work in ARI as a scientist but before that I was a tennis coach. I've also worked in coffee shops while I was in college" she added. So Lilith was a true stray cat before they met up. Interesting indeed as so far she hadn't mentioned a previous abusive owner.

"Carter seems fine now. A lot happened that I didn't understand but he's going to marry Cami and my brother Taylor. I'm marrying Mallory at the same time" she added. "Was it a hard life as stray cat?" she posed.

Checking how much filter coffee she currently had to pour there was enough for Lilith at least. So she poured this cup first and brought it out to her. Once the cup was passed on Madison replied with a little chuckle “cat fu fighting? That will be interesting to see”. She took her coffee black and unsweetened. She could agree with what Lilith said and added “people do tend to like cats. It should help you”.

A wedding was an exciting experience and with a smile she said “I’m looking forward to it. It won’t be that long either”.
