chapter 19: i could give 1000 reasons why (Carter)

Withdrawal stage. He had no true idea how he would handle this so he had sent Taylor to be and hopefully stay elsewhere but now he regretted it in all truth. Still to get off this medicine he knew he had to go through the downs and then hopefully adjust to a life with so much more than he first had than when he had first started taking the medicine anyway. He simply had to get through it and then he could be deemed a functioning part of society and do his job better which would make him good because he was already great at it, but he hated staying himself.

Still he sighed and gripped his pillow for he expected Taylor to be gone by now. That seemed to be his way even Carter had noticed that which was okay as he finished his day and made his way out. Yet just when someone had showed you all you thought you knew it seemed they knew how to stay after all seen him get off the plane and he spoke. "You stayed."

He laughed. "It's not like you are a dog it's like stay away because I'm scared for you or stay away because it could be dangerous but I am so glad that you are here." He took a second. "I am also about to kill the distance because I need a hug like you need cuddles and I am considering this a middle man and if you say one thing about it I will put you on that plane myself and that will be that okay?"

Dr. Taylor Quinzell

"Considering and doing something are in two different leagues. I consider doing a lot but I do not do it. I do a lot and consider other stuff and do not do it. See the difference?" he asked as he shook his head. "Comfortable?" He thought about that. "Taylor I am comfortable I am just coming off of medicine but comfortable is not my concern, maybe a little shaking here or there and withdrawals but I mean that is just the normal when your body has become used to functioning with something and you want to learn to be without it."

He walked right up to him and looked at him. "Told you once I get through this what we are it is going to be so much more than anything else that either of us have known since the last time. Hence why I am taking my time and treating it as it is, delicate and perhaps even precious though that is a lot of P words." He looked at him and he did not care as he leaned up slightly and hugged him and then pulled him down as he kept the hug. "You stayed," he said again. "For once you are not running."

At least that was how he had seen Taylor. Doing this, doing that and then running and running and no one stopping him not that he thought anyone could and now seeing him staying and not running. He was glad because he was still withdrawing as he tightened his hug. "I'm so glad you stayed T, you have no idea." Simply because, well Carter only had one thought in his head even in his withdrawal ::



He let go of the hug as he looked at Taylor. "Come on, you're coming with me," he said as he pushed his own curly hair back and looked up at Taylor. "I'm finally ready," he said as he took a second to straighten his posture a second and then spoke. "For it," he simply said with emphasis on the it. "Plus I kind of love this whole buttons look so yes. Should I get a place with a chair or no?"

If he was going to have to explain it to Taylor of all people he would. "Home," he said. "Our home before the accident. Well I thought of it as our home but you had New York. I left something there for you." They seemed to all have their special way but he did not need that. He simply needed him to stay, a simple request that had seemed so hard for him to follow but just for perhaps this once he seemed to be doing it.



He took a second to look around as he closed his eyes for a second and then opened them looking out into the afternoon's sky. Carter had not been here in over two years because home was not a pretty picture not after the accident. "I remember it like it was yesterday," he said as he looked back at Taylor. His shakes were a little closer in time now as he turned and he could feel the tears coming down his face again. "I lost everything that day even parts of myself. I long to be able to change that day but I can't."

His demons had sat for so long. "I have to get through this Taylor, it is holding me back and I do not want that. It took you from me, it made me push you away." He slid down and his tears followed still. "I'm not who I was and yet here you are. What if I'm not who you think when I am off of this medicine? A man can only take so much."

"Okay," he said as he began to search Taylor and found the cookie. The fact that he ate it without any hesitation would become a concern later but for now



"Relax," he said as he looked up at Taylor. "It was just one kiss, it's not like it meant anything," he said as he walked as the current version of Carter hid behind a tree, trying not to make any noise as he looked at Taylor. "Look at me, what was I thinking?" he whispered.

He ran behind him as he looked back and seen the younger him. "Taylor, Taylor, stop," he said as they were still being followed by the younger versions of themselves. "Look what's the worse that could happen if we just look at them and answer some questions. Look how care free they are," he said as he looked back at them. "Plus I need that leather in my life," he said as he looked at him. "Let's just go tell them everything, it really will help me feel better."

He did not care. "Look we get together, it's not as simple as it should be but I know we get together. What's the worse that could happen telling ourselves so that when the shitty stuff happens tonight at least we know we get through it instead of worrying?" He let go of his hand and made his way back to the younger versions of them. "We do get together so whatever this weirdness is completely goes away." He paused. "Well not completely but for the most part we gets tons better at our kissing and not so much spit on my part since I learn to control my excitement."

Jacob and Gillian Stratin!!!!

"Oof," she said as she fell through the portal. "Come on, Jacob," she said as she made them both invisible. "Remind us to send Cami a thank you basket for this key. Come on, come on we need to protect our parents." Jacob looked at her and held onto his key. "When do we use this one?" he asked.

"You will know," she said as they walked behind the four of them as she looked down at the phone. "Two minutes, you use that key in two minutes." She walked behind the younger version of Carter and Jacob walked behind the younger version of Taylor. "Three, two, now Jacob, now!!"

He flipped that key up into the air and pushed all four men into one another. "Go go," he said to his sister. "That should fix it," he said as they went back through the portal.
