This was the quietest place she could think to bring these colicky babies. It was true that it was around 3 am or so but at the end of the day babies had no sense of time and she had no idea where Carter was. Apparently he thought he could just go off the grid and for whatever reason he just felt like so here she was dealing with this alone and honestly wanting to just dig into the dirt. So she had to call that baby sitter girl. "Hey Amber, wake your ass up and come to the cemetery, I need help and that is what I pay you for right?" Honestly the maddening sound of colicky babies was too high pitched for her to deal with right now. Amber Louise Stephenson

3am was weird time in general and answering her phone she heard the voice of God. She was actually on an off day officially and hearing where Avery was it was puzzling. “Avery, I’ll be right there”. So that led to waking Madison up so she could borrow her bicycle to get there. She knew the babies were colicky as she also looked after them. So about fifteen minutes later after throwing on a t-shirt and long shorts along with a baby bag she pulled up in front of the cemetery looking for Avery. Shining her torch round she couldn’t see her but could hear the babies cries. “Where are you Avery?” she called out. Avery Ashford

Who calls out in a cemetery? Was she trying to get them caught. Avery threw up her hand as a signal and thought a second. "I am over here Amber." She was going to try this whole nice approach though anyone who expected her to be nice did not know her at all but she knew she could not be a bitch forever. "Hold your torch down a bit or someone might think you are signaling for help and then the police will be here." Amber Louise Stephenson

So hearing the crying of Levi and Lyra along with Avery she was able to find this trio. She looked so frazzled she couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. So dipping her flashlight she left the bike propped up beside a tall gravestone and got to work. This started with Levi as she swore they were trying to tag team their mother. Even with her as Levi was settling Lyra was crying. She was used to this but Avery wasn’t. So naturally came the 3am call. “Levi I’m here” she softly said after switching off her torch so she could hold him. She could check for winding and then rocking the baby on her shoulder or perhaps he could just be crying for her. The baby bonding with the carer did happen but it usually balanced out when the mother took over. Before long Levi was sounding calmer and she swapped babies with Avery to work on Lyra. The girl needed winding and was also crying as she had just found the diaper needed changed. Then she sounded a lot happier as she softly said “isn’t that better Lyra”. She kept a two baby bottles of chilled fruit juice in her fridge and this went with the baby bag. As Lyra drunk the juice while being held Amber looked back at Avery. “I think Levi wants to sleep again but Lyra is up for a while. The hard part is keeping them amused I find but showing them kids things on youtube helps” she quietly advised. That reminded her that she’d need to pick up dvd’s as well for when their education started. It wouldn’t be for a while yet but while they were curious it was a good time to learn. Avery Ashford

As she sat she was calmly plotting the murder of Carter. She knew it would have to be done swiftly, intently and more than that with a grace so that once she was done no one would be able to find his body. Granted she also realized that it was not his fault but still. "Screen time rots brains," she said. "However since I am beyond desperate let me see if I can find my phone," she said. She still needed to bond with these children but this was few and far between. "Did I wake you up?" Amber Louise Stephenson

“Not necessarily Avery. You just need to feed their minds the right things. At this point they need something visual and short. Then later you can introduce them to something animated and longer. Look for something like nursery rhyme songs in the meantime” she advised as Lyra got her drink. “I will be using my laptop with them more as they get a little older. Education dosen’t need to wait until kindergarten” she softly added and then addressed the other question as the night air was bound to work on the babies. “I would have been up by 4am anyway to go to the gym so there was no issue. Once we get the little darlings settled how about breakfast at my place?” Avery Ashford

These children might as well had diseases the way that she was with them. "I see," she said. "Excuse my brain fog it is entirely too early and my slack of sleep only has me on half dazzling status instead of full status like I usually am." She could still own business no matter how much sleep she had though. "Gym at four in the morning? Must be a young person thing," she said. The look on her face when Amber mentioned food though. "People actually cook here? You guys do not know how to live in paradise but okay. I usually order out which I guess now that I have children means I need to cook. Look at me Amber, I will not be cooking. I know I'll get the company that caters for ARI events to cook for these children when they get to that stage. I love a good plan." Amber Louise Stephenson

Children did get sick. That was a fact of life as once they mixed with people in general as Amber replied “all parents an live in nanny’s have that problem at times. I found that the gym opened that early so it makes sense and the workout energises the body and mind. Then I’m ready to take on what the day has in store for me”. She smiled after this feeling quite alert already. “I always tried to cook. You don’t have too but breakfast will be good”. Another smile followed as it looked like the babies were finally settling down. Avery knew what she wanted to do and so did Amber. Avery Ashford

"Insanity," she said as she thought about it. "I guess if I had a business meeting at that time I would get up so maybe the gym is like that for you," she said as she was glad her children were settling down. "Oh yes I forget how the poor are, not that I do not know what it is like I chose to marry rich so I could forget." Terrible. Cooking was for peasants anyhow. "Okay come on then," she said as she got up and grabbed Lyra's carrier. "If you grab that one food will only be a simple order away." Amber Louise Stephenson

So taking Levi's carrier and pushing her borrowed bike back to the apartments they did get there. She knew what her life was like and Avery seen hers as being very different. Perhaps the rich looked at society in a completely different way and she was a scientist in a way. She'd taken the same course as Madison after all. The early gym session was the best time for her as after work you'd be tired and not so up for the training you needed to do. So it looked like it would be another time as the story picked up again in Ambers apartment. The babies still sounded the way they had been with Levi just waking up and Lyra ready to explore her world. So while Levi got his bottle of milk Amber asked Avery "what do you normally do for breakfast? I've got bagels, eggs, pork sausages, goats cheese and sweet potatoes. I could do hash browns if you wanted some and I certainly have coffee". The goats cheese was different from what she was used to but cheese was still cheese no matter what milk it came from. So she could deal with that. "Or do you still want to order in from from the 24 hour diner?" Another location Madison had told her about and she could get a milk shake or her coffee fix at 5am. She was trying to not have conversation but she had forgotten Amber was one of those chatty social butterflies. She had what? "Tea, do you have tea? I guess I could get by with coffee and my normal breakfast is fruit. I don't know I didn't fix it, just when I got up there it was. Who made it I did not know but it was good." "I mean if you get joy out of cooking do not let me ruin that by ordering something," she said. She took a minute to look at Lyra. "This little girl is like a mini me or she shall be, that is my goal but yes do you want to cook or I could cook. I mean I do not cook but the know how can not be that hard." Amber Louise Stephenson

"I do have tea bags" Amber replied as she looked for her french press. She would start the filter coffee machine off anyway but the manual system would work for tea. "I think I have fruit in the fridge as well" she added as she did shop at the farmers market where your food came with skins on it like nature intended. She did wash them before serving up after she of course washed her hands before any food prep. So an idea was brewing along with the tea and coffee that she started off. She produced grapes, two bananas, an orange and a red apple and put those on a plate for Avery. She could prepare them anyway she wanted as a sharp knife was also provided. She'd go for a toasted bagel with scrambled eggs and sausages; naturally with coffee. So bringing Avery's plate and a bowl over to her dining table she suggested "its not honestly that hard and this is very simple to prepare. I'd give the tea another minute or so". She checked on Levi before she got back to the kitchen to return with the french press and a mug. Milk could be added if needed. Both babies were content right now and even with no concept of time they were learning slowly but surely. Avery Ashford

"That is fine." Perhaps it was her no longer having a chip up her nose or her being a mother but she seemed softer except in business she had became even more cut throat and more ruthless which while not good at least she was still just using it in business. Amber was obviously a busy body which was fine. "They are fine, those kids I mean. All they mostly do is sleep and then up for two minutes and out again. It leaves the mind a lot of time to think about things, so really the gym at such an early hour? That is dedication but a public gym, how uncouth." Amber Louise Stephenson

Hearing what Avery had to say about Levi and Lyra when she wasn't there tallied with what she did see herself. They were the same way with her but more likely to be hungry during the day and needing changed at more regular intervals. "If you were a stay at home mom you would have plenty of time to think. That was something our parents and grandparents were more likely to have done but even my mom didn't do that. We both work so you need to fit in times to do what you need to do. So needs must but having your own gym equipment takes up space and even at 4am you run into people. Just not as many that you would if I left it to after work" she quietly replied to not wake up the babies and checked on her breakfast. The bagel was toasted but the eggs and sausages needed slightly longer yet. So pouring her coffee she talked from the kitchen. "They're well behaved in that sense but they'll get more curious as they realise they can crawl and then walk. Before you know it they'll be talking and being a tag team but still absolutely adorable with their own personalities" she added. Then you'd want them to keep sleeping the way they did now because that was when they wouldn't go to bed. Going to a public gym was necessary and how she'd always done it. Even her school gym was the same but you had less guys round at 4am to stare at you. Avery Ashford

"Stay at home mom's are so disgusting," she said and then shook her head. "I do not mean that offensively it is just look at all that needs to be done. If I even thought I could stay at home I would probably rather cut my leg off instead." It seemed a bit extreme but it was a truth that she had accepted long ago. She blinked. "Oh I have not even wrapped my head around them being able to be more mobile." They were no doubt going to be pulling at the hem of her pants suits and messing them up. "They are going to ruin all my perfectly tailored suits," she said. "Wow I did not think this through having these kids." Amber Louise Stephenson
