At the mall you tended to start at the bottom and work your way up. There had been a bit of light rain on their way here but it was still warm so all she needed to bring apart from a strappy purse was an umbrella.

This was an expected question and she had a cheerful reply as they passed something similar to a Starbucks that had the feel of an outdoor cafe in an indoor mall. It was also moderately busy but not so bad they couldn't move.

"Ultimately it was to reunite Mickie and yourself. I'm good friends with your sister but it was also the right thing to do. This way you can spend time together at any point. You can also go back to the orphanage to see your friends anytime you like too".

There was one aim for coming here and that was a mobile phone. It wasn't to keep track of Eric and added "the phone isn't to track you Eric. It'll make life easier having one and you can access the internet too that way".

She wasn't trying to spy on Eric. She wondered why he would think that but he wouldn't really be in the apartment she shared with Mallory and Check most of the day. Eric also knew something she didn't as she replied "I don't know how long you'll be with Mallory and myself but it'll be as long as it takes. Mickie really does miss you".

She also wondered about Mia as well but this family deserved to be reunited.

"I grew up in a middle class New York neighbourhood. Somethings just don't change on a tropical island or even in an orphanage. There's always something going on and its usually boring or gossip. Honestly I'm not trying to spy on you.

So we need a phone but where else do you want to go to?" she asked gently.

"I have been accused of being as subtle as a carnival hammer" she mused. It wasn't just the once either as Eric made further observations. They'd have to learn about each other as she added "I just didn't have gossip to deal with in school. Amber and myself had each other along with my brother to get through it. As well as the cold shouldering and insults.

You might actually run into Amber as she is now Avery Ashford's nanny".

It was a huge mall with most of the top floor being a movie theatre. It was also a lot of emergency stairs if the lifts and escalators went down. "We'll start with the phone. Then get some takeout for dinner from the food hall. After that you tell me what you need to get. I should have a good idea where to look".

Madison understood what Eric meant about his group of friends. Without people like that you'd get lost. What he said next was a shock to her. That was another thing that would stop a family being reunited.

"I think we will need to work together with Mickie and I didn't realise she had a problem" she replied to Eric looking surprised. "I can give her a ring later on once you have your phone to tell her the number you'll be on. Then we can mention it as subtly as possible for us combined". she was a blunt as Mallory at times.

Madison figured it wasn't just her brother but he was a prime suspect. She had eventually found out what had happened between Mickie and Mallory which was a huge shock in its own right and that wouldn't have helped what was going on with her friend. Mia might also end up in the orphanage too if things got worse.

They also had a plan of sorts about getting to the bottom of the problem. "It might have been Taylor or a combination of things. First we get your phone, perhaps a big pizza to bring back with us and then we'll talk to Mickie; she might not know you are with me yet" she suggested.

Madison looked back at Eric and replied "you don't know the half of it. Taylor is more than just interesting. He stood up for me when I came out and since he married Cami he's changed quite a bit and perhaps he's left his man whore past behind. So I've been left as an auntie to ten children when I expected only a few babies and only one baby momma to deal with". She didn't know if Eric knew about Mia or not but it would have to be up to Mickie to tell him. Also add in a guy to the harem and it would take time to explain.

So she knew the way to the phone shop and figured a new handset would be worth it in the long term; just something robust for starters. Eric would have a chance to pick out one of the more robust models.

“Some do more than others I suppose” Madison replied to Eric’s question. She knew people who clearly knew what they preferred and she was more used to an IPhone. “If we get the glass screen and a hard case any of these should last on this island” she added. Ultimately it was up to Eric himself about what he wanted.

Firstly came his observation about her brother. It would be fun if Eric ever ran into Taylor and perhaps not for her. “Best to get school out of the way first. Even loverboys like my brother did that first. It’s a valid path in life but since you’re thinking about that already you must have an eye on a girl or at least think one is pretty”. She had been a focused girl herself and even with all the girls who could turn her head it took her time to figure things out. She didn’t have a steady girlfriend until the end of high school.
