Blythe - you bring the fruit juice

Normal humans did try and do what these women did. Very few even got close and that could be part of the reason for irrational hatred; basic jealousy at play. On the other hand it most likely was the fear of the different and that first wave of hatred led to the world they had now. To date there hadn't been anything like comic book heroes and heroines openly doing their work in the name of justice. They might however be super criminals around as these individuals could work in the shadows and not be noticed too much. It would be bad news if these displaced oddities united under a leader and figured it would be better to fight back rather than just deal with what was currently happening to them.

"We certainly do a good job" Alice agreed. "I'd also think there's a possibility of oddity criminals who are a cut above the normal crime level. People like us then have to deal with them" she mused. That led to another question as while Alice's main aim was defending her community could OSE deal with an oddity powered criminal or a group of them?

"I actually ran into one after the Mobot raid. He nearly took my life as well and it took a timely intervention from my police backup to stop that happening" Alice confirmed. "He could blend into shadows and use those to expand his form. I did try and talk to him but he hated cops in general; probally with good reason and I'm not sure what he thinks of other people either" she added with a sigh.

She wondered if the shadow man was still around; he probally was but he was either doing things away from peoples attention or not leaving witnesses. He could also be lying low for a while.

"So you might well find others. Its like in the Western comics where morality is quite clear. White hats verses black hats and the bad guy sometimes wins. But not usually" she suggested.

Alice would be happier to unload her babies sooner rather than later but they were content to keep trying to kick her and grow. So she'd most likely go full term with her twins. Both had different friends who depended on them and they would be mothers caring for a baby in common later on.

"All very true Blythe. Now its time for dessert" she replied seeing lunch had been well and truely consumed by now. "At least its not going to be long for us now and once we both give birth we really need to get them together and do this again" she suggested.

"Yes I do". Children made it more fun in her mind and Blythe added an idea too. "Doing it outside sounds like fun" she added with a smile as Alice left briefly to get dessert out of the fridge. She'd made up tinned peaches and ice cream and came back with these on a tray and two spoons. Something simple tended to work better.

A question about cooking ideas. This was as much as a hobby to her as it was a practical skill to have. She'd picked up all sorts of information and skills living with the army but thankfully not the habit of making enough to feed 50 people; that was something an army cook was used to doing and her culinary education had started with them. Looking back at Blythe she had an answer.

"It started with my early experiences and when I was eight I was allowed to help the cook in the army camp. I don't think he minded me flying up to to the top shelves to fetch things as he was short but I learned how to do a lot of the basic things from him. Like how to bake, make pastry, prepare vegetables, and how to cook in bulk. That's not necessary here but if you're going to do something in bulk you keep it simple but good.

Videos are my main go to with the occasional cooking shows for ideas. He might well have learned from an army cook if he shouted that much" she replied with a little smile. Babies weren't trying to kick her for now so that was good. "I get books from time to time as well and these cover all kinds of ideas. Do you get to cook much yourself given your working hours?"

This was a simple idea and those tended to work best with Alice. You get get tinned fruit here but when the island grew a lot of its produce why go that route? "So you don't have time at the moment? That's understandable but something simple like a pineapple crumble would work well. You just need a whole pineapple cut up after you core it and then put the crumble topping on it. You'll know its cooked when the pineapple is very soft and the crumble is golden brown" she replied with a smile.

"I cook and freeze meals in advance so Lucas just needs to finish a meal off in the oven. Its much handier to work that way when you get the time. Certainly a good idea for when babies need solid food as you could make up your own. It just needs mashed or pureed" she added.
