She was busy but she was working through as much as she could as she had called David and Artemis into her office and was now waiting on them to come and talk to her about a few scientific things that she wanted to work on. David LightfeatherArtemis Fuller

David was not one to rest on his laurels. He had been part of a team that pulled off what seemed the wild ravings of somebody he'd known while she was still alive but now presumed dead. So under the right conditions and the way he'd came up with had worked. There was still things to resolve as it took at least a week to turn a normals dna into oddity dna. Then a power could develop. He still hadn't a test that could show a likely candidate but he needed evidence of oddity activity in the family tree to even procede. He doubted there even was a test but the dna gave the answers. Now he had a meeting with his boss and Artemis. Hopefully he'd hear about what they'd be working on next as he entered Avery's office. Avery AshfordArtemis Fuller

She felt a bit like she was being called into the principal's office because she did not hear that Avery wanted her in her office for much but she made her way in anyway. She had high hopes for how this might turn out but she would be interested in just about anything at the moment that did not have her behind a desk. Avery AshfordDavid Lightfeather

"I would like to preface this by saying that neither of you are in trouble. I just want you both to know how much your work is appreciated. The research and development have been so good that it's nice to just let your workers know." David LightfeatherArtemis Fuller

Not being in trouble was a start. Appreciation of your work from your boss was better as David looked to Avery and then back to Artemis. "That is good to hear; What are we going to be working on next?" he posed. Also the obvious question to ask given there was always a scientific idea to deal with. Like Artemis he'd also like to work in a lab and not be deskbound. Avery AshfordArtemis Fuller

She had never really talked to Avery but once and even then they had quickly gotten off of the clock and hung out. It was fun but it was business at the end of the day and this sounded a lot like a business venture too. "I mean I am glad that we have made such vast improvements so much so that I hope that we all do the best that we can and continue to do so." Avery AshfordDavid Lightfeather

"I brought you both here today to gauge your interest in my next project. You see we need someone to go out swimming and bring us back some of the water animals to study and also, there is an ai robot with a human body. I would like for the two of you and perhaps Lucas as well to work on these projects three days a week. As for Mickie and the others they are studying blood samples from the people who comes in lately." David LightfeatherArtemis Fuller

As the team grew it did mean David and Artemis got away from the routines of ARI. So from what he was hearing it seemed there was two projects in mind for them and Lucas. The new guy wasn't so new anymore and he'd be a good addition to their brain trust. "I'd agree about having Lucas on our team. He's got what it takes and regarding the sea life samples I would also suggest taking a small boat out early in the morning. Then see what we can catch. The other idea sounds really interesting" David replied. AI work sounded interesting too but with it in a human body? If they did pull off what only had been seen in science fiction you were creating life. Then what would happen to this new life form? As long as questions were being asked he was sure things would be done right. "What do you think Artemis?" he posed. He could swim but Artemis was the natural candidate. Artemis FullerAvery Ashford

"Yeah I think it will be good. We can always work in small groups and report our research back and that is what excites me the most about our growing team." If it was work then she would be all for it, plus she had a little side project of her own she wanted and hoped that they would be able to work on in given time. Avery AshfordDavid Lightfeather

"I consider the two of you the top of my research team in each of your fields. So what I am about to tell you has to remain top secret." She wanted them to be in the loop but not at the cost of costing her anything and telling anyone anything. "I created an AI that looks like a human." She did not even blink as she said it because she was serious. "I am going to let her work here and see if she can fit in and I want you two to monitor her on Wednesdays only to make sure she is doing okay." David LightfeatherArtemis Fuller

"Scouts honour" David replied hearing this had to stay secret. A close to an oath you'd make without invoking a deities name in the UK. "We can do that and she will be able to try different types of work. Then you'll know where her skills lie" he added. Then looked to Artemis. This did seem simple enough and they'd help guide a new person into the world. Artemis FullerAvery Ashford

Science was such a magnificent tool that this news still floored her. "Does she have a name?" It might have seemed like a silly question but she felt everything needed a name so that they could find their place in the world among everything else that fell at their feet. Avery clapped excitedly as she heard the positive input. "Her name is Mason. You see I believe in not only letting them figure out their personality but also letting them pick their name so Mason it is. I think that you guys are going to love her I do not see it being hard to just monitor her at all. I of course also put my time in with her too so we can all write notes and compare." David glanced at Avery and then Artemis. This explained why he couldn't tell a soul but there did seem to be a simple way of doing this. "I believe letting Mason do some of our work would be a good approach. For example letting her analyse a scientific paper would test her thinking and ethics. Also some lab work like handling blood samples could test her learning and existing knowledge. Does she know she is an AI in a human body? We know what we are and it helps define us. It also did as we grew up" David posed the question because anybody knowing what they are was the beginning of the journey. Avery AshfordArtemis Fuller

"Also do you think that we could use a little company funding for some research on human and oddity dna reversal?" She figured this was as good of any time to ask. "It's apart of our fields and with so many humans coming in, with a hot viral season predicted on the island perhaps it is best if we get a head jump on it." Avery AshfordDavid Lightfeather
