Alice had started on her glass of beer as Lucas spoke. He was certainly entertaining and since she turned up at ARI on occasion she might run into him during the day. Lego was unusual but she had came across those complex kits before. Much more than just bricks but closer to a model kit and not for the faint hearted by the looks of it. A happy smile crossed her face too as the bonus she hadn't expected might just not be the obvious one. Since he wanted to keep calling over he might well turn into a fun friend. "Lego still sounds interesting. I'm sure its moved on since I was a little girl with only one name and a virtual lab rat" she mused. "I'm sure it would make an impressive tale to drop into a coffee break. You got to be an action hero for thirty minutes. In fact I had effectively deputised you without saying it. I've only done that once before tonight" she added. "Off course Lucas. I'm also doing a part time degree and might not always be available. File me under Alice Seraphim and this number". She told him the number and she would add him to her contact list after he contacted her. Tonight was looking like a vast improvement on her initial plans and as to her other needs; toys could take care of that once Lucas left for the night and even if she still needed to after all the beer that was looking at them. He turned his head so that he could watch her and listen and he softly sighed though he did not recognize that. He turned his glass of beer up a second and then put it down as he spoke once more. "I will see if I can work it in Alice" he said and then went on. "They certainly do have more sets now with much more expectations than when I was a child too." He took a second to move ever so slightly closer to her. He did not know if it was the beer, the air, or just her but there seemed to be something about Alice. It was probably the adrenaline rush mixed with the alcohol too but he was not going to ponder on that too much as he put his glass down. "So Alice" he said. As Lucas confirmed that Lego had come a long way the blocks she'd played with came to mind. Large and multicoloured things she wouldn't have been swallowing anyway at four years old. That thought wasn't to last long as Lucas looked purposeful and she found herself not minding what had just happened. Was it the beer talking to a mind that had been looking to blow of steam anyway? Or was it a case of not getting any satisfaction recently along with being so busy and her life under threat every time she stepped into a crime scene? "I don't think so" she cheerfully mused back. It was not that it was new territory with Lucas his mind just always worked in the what if and after but the beer had long clouded that judgement he supposed. It was either that or the adrenaline high still seeming to muse around as he heard her speak. He supposed that would listening to her and how she sounded would get him every time. Still he took a second and he did not expect anything as he watched her and then felt her kiss him back as half of his face camoflauged. "Sorry," he said as he shook it away. Not a bad idea though. "Okay good cause I wasn't too sure. I mean I thought maybe not but one should always make sure." Alice was still letting Lucas work at his pace; it was only fair but perhaps he was still nervous as half his face blended into the main lighting of the room. She wasn't going to force him into anything he didn't want to do and that would always be the way she worked. Feeling the touch of his fingers on hers gave her more signals and then came another kiss. "No harm done Lucas" she quietly said not wanting to break the mood that was building. "We'll get there together" she added as the beer was in danger of being forgotten tonight. Things with Adam had appeared to have fizzled out and ran their course by now and this felt like starting again. This time she wouldn't rush anything. His nerves were definately on edge but not because he did not want it he was just thinking about the after. Still they were kissing and he found himself right or wrong completely forgetting about the after as he felt her return his kisses and he stopped a second speaking. "Can I spend the night?" he asked quietly. It may have seemed like the strangest question but he wanted to know. "I'm sorry I mean after I, we," he took a second to take a breath in and then went on. "I want to be with you tonight Alice and maybe nights after that as you see fit to want to be with me but I just do not want to do it and then leave." Lucas did pose a question and it wasn't an obvious one to Alice. She did take a moment to mull it over and gave him a positive answer. "You can Lucas". Then he had more to say and she listened again. Dating a cop wasn't going to be easy. Any police officer could tell you that and those with families were a rare specices. "I'd like to have you around. We'll work this out together and hopefully for a long time" she added giving him another kiss and folding her arms round him. He might end up on the sofa or in her bed but they'd figure that out later. It did feel new for her and with a little bit more experience behind her she could feel things for Lucas. Well now that he thought about it as he listened he should have asked her if she had a boyfriend but it did not matter to him. If she had, he did not consider her too now and he did not think that rudely he just did not feel like they would be at this point if there was anything to the relationship. Besides he could make her feel better in all ways he felt that would make her realize that relationships could be real and true and dependable. Things he felt like he needed in his life and could get from her too. The touch of her arms around him was messing with his nerves as he could feel his face trying to camo out but behaving for the moment. He turned and took a second to taste the beer. Alice did find her wings were more than just a means of getting around. They were sensitive to the touch as well so when bedtime did happen he'd find that out. She was half drunk by now since the rush of foiling the robbery had passed. Given how pissed off the PD could be with the man and woman she figured they'd either face prison or be exiled from the island. It was the most obvious open and shut case she'd ever heard off. "A top up would be nice and I'll call it a night after that" she happily replied. She still had some condoms in her bedside desk draw that were left over from before. The wings flapped a little and then drooped before she folded them in. She didn't want to whack Lucas with them but it wasn't an obvious hazard for a sexual partner. He was warm hot actually if he was being honest but at least it was keeping him from camoflauging which he figured was good at the moment as he watched Alice and he turned and took another drink. It was well past his limit but he was holding up pretty well and he knew that it was mostly from nerves anyway. Maybe next time he'd be less nervous and less in these types of feelings and have more control over them. "Calling it a night sounds like a good idea," he said quietly as he took a second to shake his head. He was in his feelings again but he stopped them. Alice was starting on her top up of warm beer and her eyes were starting to close over. It clearly was bed time but the decision had been put back in her side of the court by Lucas. There would be a next time but for tonight she made a decision herself. Suggest they'd go to bed, maybe cuddle a bit and then led sleep take it course. "I can make a suggestion. We can go to bed in our underwear, perhaps cuddle a bit and then next time we might be able to go further" she suggested. She also finished off her glass in two long drinks ready to do just that. He seemed deep in thought about this and he finally spoke. "Yeah that sounds like it might work." He was still a bit awkward but he would try to get past it eventually. Plus he just needed the alcohol to wear off a bit so he did not feel guilty. He looked at their hands and sighed. "I mean I am good with that," he said trying to sound more confident before letting out a shake of his head. "I promise I will get better with things between us." So it was bedtime after all. Firstly she put the unused beers in her fridge, washed out the glasses they'd used and made sure her alarm was set. It usually was but she always made sure and it was an early 5.30am start as she could sometimes be in work by 7am. Wiggling out of her dress once she got to her double bed would give Lucas an eyeful and next time they could go further. "I'm sure of that" she quietly replied. He did not normally sleep well, or at least as well as he had slept that night. Still as the morning came into play he was not aware at first that he was still in Alice's bed and then he was as he opened his eyes. "Oh right" he said quietly. He was not going to be awkward about it since there was no reason too. Spending the night with someone was perfectly fine but the alcohol was off now. Had it all been the alcohol or had it truly been emotions. He hoped for emotions but he could not say. "Alice," he said quietly. "Are you awake?" It seemed Lucas had woken up slightly earlier than her alarm clock. Alice was in a light sleep when she heard the voice calling her and stirred slightly. Then she gradually came round as she moved onto her side. She slept on the front rather than her back because that was the most comfortable way for her. There was one thing that hadn't entirely gone to plan and that was her being bra-less as cuddling had gotten a little bit hotter but on the whole they'd managed to stay to the plan. "I am now" she murmured with bed hair and loose feathers she'd have to clean up later in the bedding. Her bra was also in there somewhere. She did feel slightly hungover but that would pass. It wasn't her first time dealing with one. So sitting up in bed with covers pooling round them she shook her head. Then the alarm went off and carefully pressing the button on the clock radio meant she was up for good at 5.30am. She didn't feel awkward in the slightest and figured that breakfast was a more reasonable option right now. "How did you sleep?" she softly posed to Lucas. The beer hadn't quite left her system yet but it had no effect on right now. She remembered most of what they'd said once they got back to her room. They were certainly closer now than before they were going to bed at least. So in her case it was emotions in play as a lazy smile was in play.
