Though she was a little bit more into romance than Ace she knew that you still had to take time. That did remind her of the businesses she was thinking about starting, but she could talk to Madison about that at another time. "So they say that the campus has some bells or something that you can take a trail too but I did not want to risk us getting poisoned through oak or ivy so I marked that off but I do want to take you to the food." She nodded and mounted her bike as she cruised around, making sure that Madison followed back behind her as she took in the sights. The campus was pretty but she also knew that a lot of people did not use it as they should. Once they arrived at the food trucks she took a second and stopped. "Here we are," she said. She had figured ordering food would work best in the end since she lacked cooking skills that might be deemed impressive but the set up itself was nice with a blanket and warm containers for the food. Things didn't seem to have changed on the campus as the courtyards looked as busy as she remembered them. Students would be young and foolish; she knew that and they also had fun even with the university not having all the facilities that she'd been used to doing her degree originally. So as they peddled some people had stacks of books in arms looking serious and busy while others were in little groups clearly having fun. So when they found the food vans and the blanketed area Mallory had clearly thought ahead. Madison could cook quite well but it was nice to get it made for you as well. So she had one container and cheerfully asked "so whats on the menu?" Things just felt so good this afternoon going into the evening. She was learning to make more time which she thought was good on her part as she took a minute to still look and take in time. "Okay so I wanted to keep it simple so you can make veggie fajitas, or chicken if you want that. If that is not on the list of things you like then you can easily see yourself having some rice over vegetables as well. "Well since you're giving me a choice I'll take a bit of everything" Madison cheerfully replied and did just that putting rice, vegetables and chicken on her plate. Along with a little bit of sauce to add taste. So as she ate once Mallory made her choice she added "you're so good to me my love". She'd have had to cook something before she went to work so this worked out very well for her. Also given she was working evenings all week they'd have the night and most of the day to work with. "So," she said because this was something that she wanted to talk to Madison about. "I am thinking about opening up some sort of dog sitting business or dog walking maybe and going back to school to get a degree so that i can help plan beach weddings." They were life changes and not big ones but she did feel that they were ones that she needed to let Madison in on. She took her spoon and mulled over her plate a minute. Madison could certainly see the point of going to university. She'd come to the isle for that reason but Mallory also had a dog based business as well as a potential wedding service in the future. So after a spoonful of rice and vegetables she looked back at her lover and looked thoughtful. "University was why I got here in the first place. My masters degree in fact and the first degree is hard work. I'll help you through that as much as I can. You could do the dog business on the side and I will help with that" she gently said. Her promise to her girlfriend. She also had a suggestion and added "if we still feel this way in six months why don't we move in together. Mallory seemed to like the ideas she'd presented. So they both ate their food and relaxed. Today had felt so good and there would be plenty of other days just like this one. Then confirmed that she wouldn't mind her moving in. Going to Mallory's place seemed the best option long term as she gave a happy smile back. Her goal had become to include Madison in her life and her life choices while watching Madison also make great ones. So far it seemed like Madison had herself pulled together and that was the sexiest shit that she had ever seen. Madison smiled broadly and cuddled into Mallory. Actions did show a lot more than words ever could. She did want this and it would be a first time for her; her other girlfriends never had that going on in their lives. This was new and it was scary but she was hopeful about their shared future. Their date had been nice, it was certainly nicer than the last time that either one of them had tried to step out together. The attack. Madison had plenty of time to think about the mobot's attack. She knew she was facing death that morning and it wasn't the Grim Reaper carrying a big scythe. So given she was willing to trade her life to keep Mallory alive it was easy to fight back. She fully believed she'd have died if she hadn't fought back anyway. Instead death came in a group of robots that they ended up playing whack-a-mole with. Looking back at her girlfriend she quietly said "I'd have given my life for you that morning. You are the main reason why I fought back but I'd have had to do that anyway. The people living on the island are my people too; this is my home now. Things might be weird from time to time and we have as much crime as most American cities our size. The world also hates us but things here can be made better. It's our home and we have friends here. You have family here and I might too given enough time". She also felt that she was contributing to an important society; the only chance that oddities really had in this world and she'd been hated just for having a different viewpoint in life, prefering girls to boys and then staying here.
