Oddities are individuals born with extraordinary gifts. Because of this they are hated, feared and generally persecuted across the globe. In an attempt to give them a refuge the billionaire Theodore Ashford has created Ashford Isle. Presented as a Sanctuary for the special some believe their to be much darker motives behind his generosity.
Ashford Isle
A state of the art city powered completely by renewable energy, gorgeous modern building erected against the backdrop of a tropical paradise. It has all the luxuries modern technology can afford accompanied by the natural beauty and serenity only nature can provide. This city is open to all Oddities and their families, along with several hundred A.R.I. employees, it boast a modest population of just over 5,000 individuals consisting of a mix between both human and oddity. This wonderful utopia however is shaded in mystery both metaphorically and literally. The United Nations have dispatched several fleets of O.S.E. ships near the island, this gives the coastline a ominous view.

As long as when he was off of work he could do what he did best (sleep) then he would remain a loyal solider, or in this case minion. Life would be shitty if all he had to do was sit around the island and at least this way for the next six months he could harm people. He did wonder just why it always had to be threats but then again the good doctor was a man in power and perhaps just a little bit he had trust issues. Not that Greg blamed him at all trust was good and then it could be a bitch. The genitial talk reminded him of a soccer strategy that he had seen one time. You tied a string to all the players around their penis' and they learned to work in movment as a team or else everyone else paid the price, which was something that made him shudder at the thoughts but he supposed it worked in the end. Food distribution though, he'd remember not to poison the food when he got bored. "This will be so much fun in the end." Painful, murderous, and bloody red to say the least. As soon as he heard the trio speak, Möbius was all smiles again. He wasn't so sure that his message had gotten through to Gregory, but Rebecca and Arthur seemed to respect his threat. In truth, the good doctor didn't fear the trio purposefully screwing him over. However, he figured that a bunch of career criminals used to a high-risk lifestyle of constant threats and action would get bored from a routine of low-risk fights and training. A person that was bored might rattle a hornets' nest or put their fingers in the cookie jar just to see what would happen. Doctor Möbius could not afford any of that nonsense. Especially at this critical point, where he was still building up his power and finances. What he needed was discipline, understanding, and cooperation. Thus, the carrot of education, pay, second-chances... and the stick of certain death to give pause before doing something stupid. " Excellent! I hope that things won't ever come to that point, but I wanted to be clear on the consequences to any actions which would negatively impact my plans or the bottom line of our meal-ticket/money laundering source. Now, once you're finished with your onboarding forms, I suggest that you head to the crew berthing to pick out a bunk. You'll be getting private quarters once we have a permanent, fixed base on the island... But for now, you're sharing space with the regular henchmen. I have to finalize the plans for our first outing in about two weeks, and contact the tailors for your costumes." Just as Möbius turned to give his attention to other business, in the form of his laptop and tablet device... he stopped. Then he turned back to face the three new minions. "Oh, before you all go... Rebecca was happy with the state of this job and in fact it was the best one she'd had since her career had taken off from mere breaking and entry and murder in self defence about ten years previously. The chance to live and work in a submarine, a prolonged spell on a warm tropical island where she could actually show herself without being arrested for merely being an oddity and perhaps be involved in a revolution all sounded good to her. So she'd be well paid and kept amused. The education was also good and she'd get to brush up on her firearms as well. The duties should be varied and she'd be getting a costume in about a fortnight. Even having to pick out a bunk with other men wasn't a problem as she'd always been one of the boys and her showering arrangements were also clarified. There was however a little issue that might affect the amount of attention that her being involved in the here and now might bring. Raising her hand as if she was at school she spoke again. "Doctor Mobius I've kind of had a professional code name for a while now but it might well draw undue international attention to your operation if 'Lucifer' is involved in it. If you are happy with that its fine. If not I don't mind if you come up with something else". In truth the name of Lucifer was how she was mainly thought of in criminal circles and up to this point it hadn't been a problem given it carried a certain reputation internationally and domestically; OSE and the CIA for starters would only be too happy to have her head mounted on the wall and her body on a dissection table and she didn't want to ruin his plans just because she was attached to a code name. She could give it up for one of his choosing to make things run more smoothly for him. He had already made gender specific arrangements to suit her and while she'd no intention of messing this gig up for her employer other agencies might well be drawn here just to take her down. He was still slightly eyeing everything as his body wanted to become comfortable but he knew that he needed to remain alert. They knew this man a little and he seemed trusthworthy, again a little but the one thing that stuck out to Arthur was how well versed the man was. He seemed to know what he wanted and how to get it. He cleared his throat and finally spoke up. "Whatever anyone wants to call me is fine." He had never had a name he liked aside from his own but even then he had met other Arthur's along the way and they were sad, miserable excuses for things that could be so he had easily dissassociated himself from the name and all the feelings that came with it. He often found the musings of other people interesting. If you listened enough you would never really know what they were up to but you could get a decent picture about what they wanted and a lot of that told you what you needed to know about them though it was not always what you wanted. The difference between the two was so small that sometimes they appeared as findings of one another but still remained so different. "I do not need a name but if you find one that you think will fit me then feel free to tell me and I can go by it." He did wonder what they would be doing once t hey were let go. Doctor Möbius tippedy-tapped away at the laptop keyboard as soon as Jennifer gave him her preferred code-name. He'd seen it pop up in quite a few of the reports, warrants, and other paperwork involving her, so he knew the CIA had applied it to her. He just didn't know whether or not she preferred it. As for Arthur and Gregory... well, he had a few ideas as to what to call them. "Lucifer will work quite well. Love the whole "demon" angle... we might be able to get some prosthetic horns and a pitchfork for the costume. If I could get a supply of fuel or some sort of burnable jelly..." More typing followed, before Möbius turned to Arthur and Gregory. "As for you two... Hmm... I could see Arthur as... Barricade perhaps. And Gregory as 'The Wolf Spider', since he can stick to walls but doesn't make any webs." There was a bit more typing as Doctor Möbius looked over the lists of names he'd whipped up off the top of his head. "Barricade" and "Wolf Spider" were up at the very top, but he had a few other ideas he would run past the pair later. Once he had a few costume designs and ideas. "That was all, the three of you can see yourselves out. Feel free to explore the sub, just don't get in the way of any of the crew. And if you get hungry, there's some sort of seafood ravioli dish in the mess hall, with some greens on the side and jello for dessert. There's also vegetarian, kosher and halal options." Apparently, the good doctor was done with their little interview by then. He started to get sucked into his work, and stopped responding with anything more than single words or grunts. There were lists to generate, designs to oversee, and plans to be finalized for the next heist. Not to mention the slowly developing maps of the caves beneath the island, and the floor plans for various venues in the slums that could act as temporary headquarters. Rebecca had heard she was known as Lucifer from a dying CIA agent whom she put out of her misery. So adopted it and other employers knew she was called it without her having to mention that. So it kind of stuck with everyone. The good doctor seemed to like it too. So now the interview was over she slipped away from the doctors quarters to firstly speak to Raul about the shower arrangements, then find her case and then claim a bunk. Lastly she'd locate the mess hall and try not to get in the way of the crew until they actually had a job to do as henchmen and henchwoman. Right now she was the only one but there might be others later on. They also had time to get used to this environment and they might even have some of their education before their first job proper. She'd like to find out more about Ashford Isle for starters other than the generally known fact it was a refuge for oddities. She did have to time to do proper research and she smiled a little. This would be fun and she might even get clubbing on a night that wasn't Halloween. He nodded and made sure he got out, not to be disrespectful but if he was no longer needed he did want to get to know his surroundings. Exiting out of the quarters he cleared his throat quietly and took a second to breathe. Greg was interested still but as he seen the man go back to work he held his thoughts. At the end of the day the man had gotten to the point and they now knew just a little of what he expected and that was how a job should work. He would do his best to get to know the surrounding area not only around him but on the island too.
