Seeing Lynn's happy face as they kept driving on made Alice appreciate the freedom she had even more. She'd rather die than be caged again as these young women kept driving to the beach and Alice sped even more. So when she pulled up at the beach she pulled up the handbrake and got unbuckled. Bouncing out she went "yay!" and then headed to the boot area of her vehicle. First the supplies bag and then her beach bag were needed. Then once they were organised of would go her red dress and the fun could begin. Lynn Carpenter

"Ahh, the beach," Lynn said, climbing out of the vehicle and soon joining Alice on the beach - supplies nearby, ready to enjoy a day out at the beach. Alice Seraphim

The tide wasn't fully out yet but there was enough sand to deal with as it felt a little warmer. So into the beach bag she dipped and out came the towel. Then she took of her dress and shoes and left these back in the jeep. All was ready for fun. She usually had a little scout around any place she visited and kept up the habit with a little flight. There wasn't even a dog walker out today. So she landed in the sea splashing up to her knees. Just the start of the water fun. Lynn Carpenter

Making sure she had everything with her, Lynn excused herself and headed back to their vehicle so that she could slip her tee-shirt and shorts off; her swimsuit was on underneath so it was just a simple thing of making sure nothing was amiss. Satisfied everything was as it should, Lynn dashed out to the beach, towel in hand, as Alice flew up in the air a bit and landed in the water. Nice, she thought, as she rushed into the water to join her. Alice Seraphim

Now they could splash each other as Lynn joined her in the knee deep part of the sea. They could go deeper and swim once they felt warm enough. Which didn't take long as she waded deeper and felt the water take over; so floated a little before she dived under the water. Wings didn't hinder her in water as she kicked her legs to push further out before she felt air running out. So then pushed up so her head broke the water. This was a skill she had learned once she got to the isle originally as the army base had no swimming pool. She'd also dusted down the art of riding a bicycle so everyday was a school day. Setting down her towel on the beach, Lynn waded out into the water, joining Alice and splashing a little bit of water on her as if to say "I'm here". Lying on her back, she let the water move her around, making sure to keep upright as she did. Alice Seraphim

The waves coming in were giving Lynn plenty of buoyancy as were Alice's wings. So splashing Lynn back she found she had to swim round for now. Perhaps today she'd also figure out how to take off from water. "Just you wait" she said trying to get closer and not quite there yet. Diving down again after a lungful of air she kicked hard to pass under her friend. Lynn Carpenter

Ducking a little bit as Alice splashed her back, Lynn replied, "I'm waiting," sticking her tongue out at her as she watched Alice dive underneath and swim below her, content for the time being to just continue floating on the water. Alice Seraphim

They were out deep enough to properly swim so Alice found plenty of space between Lynn and the sea bed below her. It also looked like a different world as it was darker with sea plants visable; also some fish looking for food that she managed to scatter.
Then with her feeling the need to breathe she kicked up hard and emerged to Lynn's right hand side as she floated. "Gotcha" she called out. She did something unexpected once she got that breath she needed. She gave Lynn a tow by holding onto her left foot and managing a little flight just above the water. A gentle experiment into seeing what she could do in water as she slowly towed her around. It was hard to fly this slow but she managed.

Then with her feeling the need to breathe she kicked up hard and emerged to Lynn's right hand side as she floated. "Gotcha" she called out."Yeah, yeah," Lynn started to reply, only to go "Woah!" as Alice took hold of her foot and began pulling her along the water; rather than be frightened she just went with it and began waving her arms as she was lifted a little ways off the water. A new experience for her; it was like being on a boat skimming the water's surface only she was the boat now. "Whoooo!" she cried out as she bounced a little off the water.... Alice Seraphim

Boats didn't normally have anything to say but this one did. Now Alice increased the beating of her wings and she went faster while keeping the same distance above the waves. It was also the same experience a flat pebble skimming over water had if it could tell its tale. Now if they had a rope they could do something resembling a water sport; a version a normal human would have never even considered. "Tell me if you want to go faster" she called down. Lynn Carpenter

Hearing this Alice let go and left Lynn to her own floatation method. She then hovered near her wondering what the idea was. "I'm all ears Lynn" she replied. Lynn Carpenter

"Well," Lynn said, "remember the experiment I did with that sonic scream on mine? How it tore up the sand in front of out to the water and all? Well," she said, nodding out towards the open ocean, "what if we tried that out on the open water, aiming my scream at the water and seeing what happens? I mean, as far as I can tell, there's no ships in the immediate area - unless their O.S.E. ships, in which case me tell me exactly where they're at - so there shouldn't be any risk to anyone? "And if anything bad happens, pull my skinny little ass out of the water, alright?" Alice Seraphim

Alice mused over the idea based on what she knew about OSE habits. She knew one agent for sure having dealt professionally with him but their fleet was an unknown to her. She did know how far out they tended to lurk unless a submarine was close in being sneaky; in that case it was too bad as they couldn't see a submerged Ohio class vessel underwater where they were. "Go for it Lynn. OSE surface vessels tend to be four to five miles out to shore. If there's a sneaky submarine its too bad for them if we can't see it" she said. "So as long as your power dosen't travel that far you'll be fine. And I will fly you out of here if something goes wrong" she added with a smile. So what could go wrong? Lynn Carpenter
