they call me Camila (Madison)

So Cami was going for the orange and blue bike. One you wouldn't miss anywhere and especially at night. Madison wanted lights as well as reflectors to be on the safe side and a helmet was usually recommended but not always required.

"The owner thinks he's got a frame that style in pink in the back. Then I can add lights and reflectors here and now to the existing wheels. It's not as simple as adjusting a saddle" Madison mused.

"You won't miss you on that bike anyway. At least you can cycle safely here. If I tried this at home I wouldn't last five minutes in the traffic" she added as another thing to look for in New York.

Cami Q.- Carter

Madison heard what Cami had to say and had to shake her head. She'd never had dealings with horses in anyway or form. "It was the saddle on a bike I was referring to. I'd no dealings with horses but there are places in New York State you can ride them" she softly replied.

"You really should have somebody with you at night in general but sometimes it can't be helped. I usually travel home from work alone if I'm doing an evening shift. The fitness centre dosen't usually close until 1am but I don't always have to work that late" she mused. Plenty of people did though and you did get to sometimes see the security services doing their rounds then. Given Madison was used to seeing beat cops around when home she figured it was the same idea but it had a long way to go.

She wouldn't expect Mallory to have to come and accompany her home; it wasn't fair to expect that but she could defend herself all the same.

Cami Q.- Carter

Madison knew that feeling just too well. Knowing self defence and carrying something to defend your life and honour with was essential. Back home it could be a little pistol or knife but pepper spray and kicks worked just as well if you placed them right.

"This isle is safer than home but you still need to be careful. I'd recommend chasing up somebody in the Security Services as they're the closest we've got to police round here for advice. Even a pepper spray and some women's self defence classes would be a start. You can do those in the university as night or morning classes" she softly advised.

Then Cami broke the serious mood that was forming by laughing. "I don't really have time right now but I can keep it in mind. A bike ride together is actually is actually more possible as we'll both have the means shortly" she suggested with a smile. It would still be an adventure; just not on four legs and horseback.

Having been a New Yorker and still being one it was hard for Madison to answer that question. It would have to be somewhere different and she did have an answer of sorts. "I was thinking Cuba in fact. Not only is it a different political system, its another way of looking at things. Just like we have here. Mind you I'm not sure the US system works well either" Madison mused. She could see the bigger picture and it wasn't just about issues relating to oddities, LGBTQ+ and normals. She was also politically minded and beyond Democrats and Republicans by now.

"I'll know shortly about the bike but I can picture it with the lights installed and fitted to me" she added cheerfully. "A karate class would work quite well for that purpose. Now I need to find you pepper spray". Another observation that would improve anybodies self defense ability.

Just perhaps the postal service could improve to here and if it did she get some sent from home. If that didn't look likely she'd need to do some asking around to locate more.

"I'll find you one even if its my spare" Madison said looking back at Cami. She wouldn't see anybody else stuck in a problematic spot just because of a blockade. Even if things felt safe she knew from her experiences that it always wasn't that way.

Then the shop owner came back with a frame in his hands. Madison showed her appreciation by grinning broadly and thanking him. She'd be able to collect it the next day as he told them that.

One thing she could improve? She knew one thing every country was supposed to have; but who directs justice?

"We need a police force the way I'd know it back home; the security services try their best but need more help and police also lead to a justice system" she replied. Even dictatorships had law and order.

Cami Q.- Carter

"Yes I do get Madi from time to time" Madison started to say and then Cami surprised her big time. Firstly by offering to pay for her bike and the idea being planted that she'd make a legal person some day. Right now the isle didn't have anything like a court system; she figured any criminals the security services caught would probally be deported in lieu of proper processes.

"Oh thank you Cami; and if I want it?" she added the surprise showing in her face. "My degree and masters is in sports science but I did grow up rowing against the tide. Not just on the worlds view on oddities but LGBTQ+ issues too. Does that mean that there will be a police force and courts some day?"

Perhaps sooner given the way Cami was talking but Madison wondered how soon that could happen. Did she know something that was coming and how long a lever could the blue skinned woman pull?
