they call me Camila (Madison)

Madison hadn't a push bike when she got here but for this day of she'd hired one to see how much she remembered of that skill. It was also quicker than walking and for the warm day she had decided on a yellow vest top and long red shorts. Along with her trainers and a backpack in lieu of her purse she'd also worn a green boonie hat she'd picked up at the army surplus store in the mall. It did a good job of keeping the sun of her head for starters.

With a route kind of planned out in her head she'd start by peddling from the bike shop to the pier. Then she could stop for a while and maybe watch the waves. Reaching that point where she could see them properly she got of her bike. Some movement caught her corner of her eye and she looked round to see a woman enjoying the waves.

She gave her a friendly wave and a smile. Paradise wasn't perfect but if you could get on with people life was a lot easier. If people in general were nice to each other worldwide there wouldn't be so many problems.

Cami Q.- Carter

Perhaps a human coming to the isle wasn't always noticed. You did need the proper permission to stay here and she'd gotten a work permit now she was staying for a while longer.  That replaced the visa she'd got to study here initially. 

So looking back at Cami  and she looked friendly enough. So pushed the bike with her as she got a little closer. "I studied for my Masters degree here so I've been here two years. I'm now a sports coach and so far I'm enjoying the job" she cheerfully replied. Then remembered she hadn't introduced herself. "Oh I'm called Madison" she added. 

Cami Q.- Carter

"I mainly teach tennis with some gymnastics and track and field" Madison cheerfully replied. "And thank you for the offer. It must be just as amazing working in the research institute" she added.

She liked the island which was a vast improvement on home. It was warmer all year round except for summer, the time away from New York had certainly improved her relationship with her family and while there was crime it was a less to deal with.

"So whats the water like?" she posed. If the pier wasn't that cold then the rest of the sea round here shouldn't be.

Cami Q.- Carter

Madison smiled hearing the water was fine. "If I'd tried to go sea swimming in New York State I'd need a wetsuit. That's what I had to do when I went to university there. That didn't work out so well" she replied. That was a fact and knowing all she'd need was a regular swim suit was very helpful information. "I know there's some beaches round the isle but what's the best one you know off for water fun?" she posed. Cami was being quite helpful already and hopefully she could advise her further.

So Cami seemed to meet a lot of people and they might get meeting the same type in their jobs. "I get to meet many different kinds of people too. Improving your skills also involves the body and the mind. Just playing tennis or doing a gymnastics work out takes care of the stress too". She did get playing as well as coaching but always got in her early gym visit as well.

Madison figured a map of the island would be an investment. If she got a more permanent bicycle getting around would be a lot easier. So that was two things she'd need to sort out to even think about sea swimming.

"I could do with a bike of my own. I hired this one" she replied for starters. Then added "I came here to study for my masters degree but I also had questions of my own that needed answered. I'm human but always had a need to know why oddities were hated and what they were really like. Now I know there's no reason for what I seen growing up as other humans are much more of a danger than oddities are. People back home are too blind to see that". You didn't need to look too far to see it was humans carrying out mass shootings or running extremist groups that wanted to wage war on their perceived enemy. Islamic based terror groups hadn't gone way either.

Madison felt Cami was genuine and that was a potential start to knowing them better. So gave a smile back now she'd explained her reasons for staying here.

Cami Q.- Carter

Madison figured life wasn't as simple as Cami was making out. Still that was her point of view and she was entitled to express it. Firstly a bike shop was mentioned.

"If you could tell or show me that shop it would be great. Cycling beats having to walk everywhere" Madison mused and then considered the earlier statement. "Anybody can be good or bad and you get that even here. Just learning from something isn't enough. Action needs taken too". Crime wasn't always punished but there was still justice around even in the USA. Things were certainly getting darker back home but that flame was still lit; at least for humans.

Cami Q.- Carter

Everybody had a past and with past came experiences good and bad; that was common to humans and oddities alike. Madison's experiences were also mixed as she was close to being an outsider when she left New York for her masters degree. She continued to get good feelings from Cami as she was offered something. Being led to the bike shop.

"Please lead the way Cami. The new bike is bound to be an improvement on this one" she cheerfully said. This hired bike had seen plenty of miles already on it.
