Oddities are individuals born with extraordinary gifts. Because of this they are hated, feared and generally persecuted across the globe. In an attempt to give them a refuge the billionaire Theodore Ashford has created Ashford Isle. Presented as a Sanctuary for the special some believe their to be much darker motives behind his generosity.
Ashford Isle
A state of the art city powered completely by renewable energy, gorgeous modern building erected against the backdrop of a tropical paradise. It has all the luxuries modern technology can afford accompanied by the natural beauty and serenity only nature can provide. This city is open to all Oddities and their families, along with several hundred A.R.I. employees, it boast a modest population of just over 5,000 individuals consisting of a mix between both human and oddity. This wonderful utopia however is shaded in mystery both metaphorically and literally. The United Nations have dispatched several fleets of O.S.E. ships near the island, this gives the coastline a ominous view.

She was tempted to give him an electrical bolt for his efforts instead she smirked, laid a friendly hand on his shoulder and said with jaguar-like sharpness. "You may be cute, but you're not my type," her smirk beginning to turn into the smile of a predatory animal sizing up her next kill out on the savanna. After a few moments, the smile turned wry and she said, "Now you did say you were gonna buy me a cup of coffee, Ace; are we gonna have that cup or are we going to stand here all day?" Ace Nottingham

He had to be careful whom he hung around because he had to watch what he said and what he did, but so far she seemed okay but he was going to do his best to not let it get to him. "I will admit that this is the first time that I have took anyone with me when I go to get something to drink. I normally just stay to myself." God, he turned his face up at her calling him cute. Still there seemed to be something about her, but he did not know what. It was probably just him being a little too curious. "Here we are," he said as he stepped to the side and opened the door. "After you,""Oh, thank you," Dana replied, smiling as she stepped inside. Seeing a couple empty tables and booths, she said to him, "I'll find us a table, you get us a couple of coffees. I'll have whatever you're getting, alright?" wondering what exactly Ace would order and hoping that, earlier outside, he hadn't noticed her electricity powers starting to manifest from their running into each other. He knew that a lot of people would say that you could tell a lot from people about the small things. The way they ate, the things they drunk and so on and so forth and while he agreed he was not going to judge anyone too harshly because you never knew what someone needed just to get through the day. "That sounds fine with me but if you do not like it, that's on you." He was simple when it came to ordering things though. Every once in a while he would spice it up but that was mainly for his own kicks and no one elses. He pointed Dana in the direction of a table and spoke. "I always sit in a corner table when I go to a place, let's take a seat and then we can order." He liked the corner because he could literally watch people come in and out and he felt that he needed to do that since people did have a tendency to be out there and crazy sometimes. "Fair enough," Dana replied as they headed off to a corner table, Ace pointing over towards one. Dana could immediately see why he'd taken that table; the seat she assumed he'd take would allow him to watch everyone coming and going from the coffee shop. Aw Poor Dana, just like everyone else in the world at least it seemed so from a glance as he watched her with her phone. "Look at that, you do know that the whole concept of a cell phone is a trap right?" He was not a conspiracy theorist on the subject but why did they always want your locations and such he would never know. Now to that point he always knew there were emergencies and such but still. "Are you being paranoid and turning on your location if it's not already on?" he asked as he laughed. People were unintentionally funny which he did find interesting more than anything else. Despite her initial misgivings - likely from when they clattered into each other out on the sidewalk - she did think he was a good and decent person. Listening to him, she switched off her phone and said, "Abundance of caution more than anything; one of our professors at the university gave us an assignment involving recombinant DNA - insect-resistant crops, specifically - and at the moment our class is simply waiting to see what the results are." "I would be lying if I did not admit that I do have a thing for weapons myself. I mean I do not believe in mass destruction or anything like that but I do think at the end of the day it's nice of someone to be able to take care of themselves. Sometimes a weapon, despite some people around here having powers is still needed." He hoped that did not come off as snarky as it could have, he was just being honest. He nodded.
