"Okay that sounds good," she said. She could tell that he was confident in his work and people always needed that at least to her. "I am sure you did all you could and as far as Artemis I am glad to hear that the two of you seemed to hit it off well enough." The truth was that she thought that the girl was a whore who used her little relationship with Ethan from years and years ago to score the job but who was she to complain. "I look forward to it, would you like to see what I have been working on?" David Lightfeather

David was unaware of the past of his future co-worker but he worked with the here and now and not the past. It was also the way he'd always been and he'd find out for himself about Artemis in due course. It also looked like Avery had been working on something too and he was curious about her discovery or project. "I am curious about what you are working on. There'll be plenty of time to look through the report I sent later on" he mused figuring she'd go through that at her leisure. The fact she offered to show him something showed that she wasn't the typical manager he had to work with before; the type who was just an office worker playing scientist. Avery Ashford

She nodded as she took a second and spoke. "Currently I am looking into family dna. I know it's a bit of a big thing to jump into but at the same time I need, well I like it. It is always important to me to know what, well where we all come from and what our biological made up looks like. It is a lot of work but I feel like someone has to do it and why is that someone not me you know?" She overworked herself, she knew. "I can send you some of the paper work if you like to look over. Another set of eyes never hurt anyone." David Lightfeather

Her family dna was as crucial as a family tree. He was missing a big chunk of his own family tree only really knowing the Irish side of his family but also still English as he felt at home there even if he was hated for being an oddity. DNA was also the key for the succeeding generations of oddities just as they'd been around as long as humanity had. That couldn't be denied. "I understand the need to know that. I don't know my fathers side of the family but my mothers side is all Irish. I can certainly be that other pair of eyes. DNA also can tell you more than that. We can use that to determine our future" he mused. He was pretty sure that over the past thirty years scientists world wide had tried to find the genes that made somebody an oddity. ARI would have to do the same in a hurry. This wasn't his field but he was a fast learner. Avery Ashford

"You don't know both sides of your family line?" She found that kind of odd but she also knew that it happened more than people were willing to admit. "You know if a day ever comes that if you want to dig into that we can help you, well the company can help you I mean. It would only cost you half of the original price and dead or alive our technology is pretty advanced but yes let's look at what i have." She handed him a stack of papers. "The good information happens on page twelve so you can turn there if you want to. As a matter of fact you can look over the information tonight and talk to me about in a couple of days if you want." David knew there was a good reason why he wouldn't know his father. So he started by explaining. "He left my mother once he found out she was pregnant. So I guess she had good reasons to cut ties and hate him" he mused. That sounded logical to him so rather than him messing up her life and his later down the line they'd settled into their quiet farming community where it was unlikely he'd find them. It did have its upsides as he'd been able to develop his ability so far without anybody catching on. If she'd chosen an urban area to live in things would have been harder. He honestly didn't think much about the guy but he knew his hair colour came form his mothers side. "Thank you for the offer all the same. I will bear it in mind" he cheerfully added. Now page 12 was the good stuff but he'd start at the beginning while bearing this in mind. "I'll keep this under my hat and get back to you in two days" he further added. With the papers secured he would take good care of them and read them when he clocked off for the night. He figured it was better to keep this information in its natural form rather than scan it for handiness. Doing that would expose it to more people and perhaps folk who had no business seeing it. Either way his custodianship of these papers would be as brief as possible. "The family circumstances make sporting events between Ireland and England more interesting" he further added. The international version of a derby match always had needle. Avery Ashford

She nodded and listened. "Sounds good." She laughed slightly as he did have a point about the family dynamic. People were always a little extra angry if they thought that you did not agree with them. "I understand that more than you would think. Alright well if you ever need anything just knock on my door until then I will let you get back to work." "Thank you Avery. I think that will be everything for now and we can touch base again in two days" David replied with a smile. She seemed to understand the nature of family like he did and then they parted. He still had a few hours before clocking off so with more fresh tea in hand he started reading Avery's information. Some of the work would be done now and the rest later once he was back in his hotel room. It wasn't a gym night and more of a netflix evening as you couldn't train everyday. He'd also start working with Artemis as well once she knew her schedule. Things were looking up. THE END Admin
