Her and Ethan were, well better. They had learned over the past few weeks to be more honest with one another and they were working on some things. From time to time they would even invite Cami over and have dinner and dessert with her, all things kept formal. Today however was all about business. People wanted to know what was next for the Ashfords what with Big Ted being in a coma and Ethan being the one who was poised to possibly head up the company. "Ethan, are you ready?" she asked. "I figure it will be easier for us to ward them head on. Cami plans on meeting us there later if I remember correctly and just give them answers to the questions that they know. The storm had made things on the island extremely hectic. Despite my feelings for both women I had not had time to focus on that, we all three agreed to put any of that to the side while the chaos settled down and the family could regain control and keep the panic amongst the citizens down.
“Maybe it should be Teddy who takes over I mean he is alot more verse in things like that. I know him and father didn’t get along, but he wouldn’t do anything to bad would he?,”
I looked at my wife and took a deep breath, most of what I had been muttering was to myself and just mainly thinking outloud but maybe I was right?
“What do you think? I know father left me in charge if something ever happened but do you think it would be smart if maybe I just turned it over to Teddy?,”

Teddy was a weasel, a dirty, low down, selfish weasel. I knew that but at the same time he was my brother and maybe it was that personality that would make him better at this than I was, I mean my father was far from a saint either.

Avery was still a headstrong woman but she also knew that business could get boring however when you took the time to think that anyone needed to do what they had and be themselves that helped to ease it or so she told herself. She nodded. "Everything else?" she said as her eyebrows arched. "Oh, Cami?" She took a second and spoke. "Well I figured it is bound to come up. Could we be mature about it? I mean what on earth could any three humans do in a spot like this? I blinked a few times and nodded my head not wanting to put too much out there until we had time to really process it. You could always tell when Avery as annoyed and it seemed like just the mention of the subject had her feathers ruffled. I smiled
"Ok Avery lets get this shit over with, ladies first?,"
I said as I opened the door and the flashing lights of the cameras took no time to flood the door way.

Their job consisted of so much more than anyone else knew. Not just them working but having to deal with things like this. She could not even really hide the fact that she hoped the man died but that would never be anything that she told Ethan as she nodded and made her way out. I try to wave off the reporters as we push out the door, they of course just ignore me as questions fly.

I paused as the anger flew over me and i turned at them

After the outburst it didn't take very long before Avery managed to sweep me away down into the hall and deeper into the private manor away from the cameras. The security kept them from following to close behind. As I took a few deep breaths I looked over at Avery and spoke finally.
"I am sorry,"
Avery was all about image and keeping things together so there was no way she was happy with me. The last thing I needed at this moment honestly, i couldn't even make eye contact.

That was the thing about images. They fell apart easily. "It's fine," she said. She knew it was not but nothing that she could do now. "I will have security escort us to a small corner of the island where we can just talk and relax and I will text Cami to meet us there. She is better suited to deal with this than I am I think." They were closer but still, it did not mean that it did not come with things. She liked Cami enough but still Avery had her own issues of being cut off still. *** She had contacted Cami as her and Ethan were now secured away in one of the cabins. Ethan had felt like a jumbled mess since the hurricane. His life was already in the midst of a crisis with Avery and Cami both pulling at his heart then his father goes and almost dies leaving the entire mess on his plate. He shouldn't be mad at his father, this wasn't his plan for sure but he was just angry at everything. He sit in the corner of his cabin as his wife finally spoke.
"I am sorry Avery, honestly I just can't seem to keep my mind clear enough to handle all of that," He pauses and looks at her giving the first smile he has had in a while "A woman as gorgeous as you could do alot better than be a beard, still your incredible for everything you do and staying with me like this,"
