A lot of the time their exploring was spooky but sometimes she needed to fire a pistol and to also get out of dodge when they found they’d dangerous company. You didn’t always see these moments on the final edit. “Some of those explorations were dangerous. It wasn’t just the disrepair of the buildings but just sometimes you found company that couldn’t be reasoned with. So making a quick exit is no disgrace” she added. “I didn’t have a sibling so my father seen me as his successor. I did get all that curiousity from him. Just in a different direction and field”. "It is a hole of wonder in it's own way," he said. He could see why it had gotten so popular despite the fact that sometimes the quality now was not as good but things did change and even he knew that as he listened. "Yeah I don't feel too bad about it always better to live and tell the tale than die and no one know." He wondered what a life without siblings was like. He did not imagine all that bad honestly. “You need to be able to accept challenges to what you previously believed. If you disagree with it you deal with it. Sometimes you just won’t feel safe but how you deal with shows what kind of person you are” Xanthe replied. She ate more of her cake and added “for example take this years presidential election. If the candidate you support didn’t win you accept the will of the electorate. You don’t riot and take part in a coup”. "What a fuckup when it comes to the election but I do agree you deal with it no matter what comes." Hardly was it as easy as healing anyone or even kidnapping them honestly but he was not letting it get to him too much. The election right now wasn’t clear and it still was a three way race. Come November they’d know the result and current events had made an impact like they always did. “I honestly feel life is better here” she remarked. “A lot has changed in a mere generation but we always will be adapting and evolving. He perked an eyebrow but only for a second because even he could not deny that. "So you think humans will develop into human plus and then eventually it will be an all oddity island or at least let's say a ninety two percent powered being island?" Xanthe wasn’t a scientist but she had listened when the subject was taught in high school. “Charles Darwin observed changes in animals induced by the chance of environment and also because they were isolated from other land masses. So they developed different from other animals of the same type. Now given how the planet has changed since the nuclear age started that could kick humans onto at least human plus. So not just here Hayden. It won’t be just this island but everywhere and you can’t defeat nature when it’s at work” she replied. “You can’t deny mutations either. It made him think of how even the smallest of insects looked different though that was not there fault but they did seem like they were becoming harder period and that was no one's fault. It was going to spread like a disease but he especially listened when she started speaking about mutations. “You do need local news no matter where you live. A lot of normal news is interesting all the same” Xanthe replied. Broadcasting could lead to other fields and she’d considered journalism as a job. Radio work was still worth exploring to its fullest. The world was changing whatever people tried to do about it. “More organised journalism was an aim while running the channel but radio can still lead down that path” she added. Hayden Quinzell |

"I think no matter how a person gets there the most important thing about news is that it is accurate. I can tell Xanthe you are honest but kind. Many people lack those kinds of qualities especially when money seems to get involved and that is scary but since you see not swayed by those things which is good then you are dependable, things that never change." “I don’t know about you but I will still sleep even after his” Xanthe chuckled. She’d need a few hours sleep before she had to visit the radio station and go through all the processes starting with HR. Then register on the island database as she was a resident. Prior to that she’d just been a visitor. “I always wanted to tell a true story in those explorations. Even those things hidden under the rocks that even fifty years down the line would be kept quiet. Hopefully I can carry over all you said over to my radio show” she replied. If Hayden needed to get back to work she wouldn’t stop him. Things looked hopeful right now but those could change quickly. Work was always going to come up but even then he knew he'd always have time for cake. "I do like my sleep." He felt like he could sleep for days which he knew was not good. Knowing where to start looking was the key but she’d already done some exploring with Hayden. Also with Derek and she was getting a feel for the island and its information sources. “I’ll certainly head to the university library and talk to the history department. We drew a blank with the big house but you can’t win them all” she replied but Hayden had won in another way. He had his project. Hayden Quinzell |
