Alicia had this creative idea going on so off to the mall they went to look for ideas and supplies. "I don't know what kind of party Brett has in mind yet but it should be good. Anyway he'll let us know" she replied with a cheery smile. The storefront Alicia had in mind would be ready soon but Rebecca also had a plan of her own; she'd even picked out an office space in the old town to provide her own cover business.

"I've looked over my office already. If I'm going to remain here I'll need to appear as if I belong" she added. She'd discussed her plans with Alicia and she could also help her girlfriends plans as well.

Rebecca hadn't found that there was that many people against her; or at least they wouldn't be before the law found out she was here. Then outstanding arrest warrants would kick in and she'd be hiding out in the one island she felt safe in.

"It's not that my love. I just need to make it look like I'm operating a legal business and I will be. Dr M set up the best fake id and background story I ever had and I don't want to ruin that. I'm practically inlawed with the Ravenmore's now. I'll need a office worker and perhaps an assistant for installing security systems. That'll depend on the workload I have" she replied with a soft voice and a smile.

"Also what colours do you think will work for our apartment?" she posed as now looking at wallpaper and pots of paint you could make a slum apartment quite nice. You just needed to put a bit more effort in.

You had different levels of paperwork. You needed that to file your taxes and in her case set up a legal business. Which did prove to be a bit harder here than she expected but things were ready to launch. An existing customer base helped too.

“Hopefully it’s not too much to deal with. I’ll love your help” Rebecca replied softly. “We should do that and a class sounds like fun. We could pick up some tips and you teach me more about fashion. You’re helping me get better with it”.

So looking at the colours available she suggested “how about that ivory colour?” That looked like a good starting point.

Rebecca had been stealing things to stay alive since she was ten including clothes but fashion hadn’t been on her agenda at that point. Just the basics of life. “At least you knew what you wanted when you were 13. I was in the process of working my way down the east side of Canada at the time and doing a short term job in the Quebec underworld when I was that age” she replied. They’d had very different childhoods.

“A dark red sounds good to me” she added. Whoever tried to redecorate after them might find it hard to cover over dark red but that was a future problem.

Her parents had been very different but that was probally down to living in the back end of Canada. Still she smiled hearing what Alicia had to say.

“My mom believed in being pretty anyway. She told be to believe in yourself, be honest and work hard. It feels like I did all of that even if I never had an honest line of work in front of me. At least until right now” she replied. “Perhaps it gets hardwired into girls to be pretty and thin as the world influences them while growing up. I stayed that way with an active lifestyle and having to deal with men in a male dominated crime world. That’s what I seen by many a poolside when I was up and around during the day. I could still be a scout sniper during the hours of daylight” she added. That ability made her more valued than the ornamental beauties crime bosses kept round them.

“How can you improve on being all red anyway?” she posed with a lovers smile. She’d dealt with the hand life had given her and at this point in life things had worked out well for her.

Rebecca laughed hearing about deep purple. “Perhaps my love. Though I can do that colour in a dress” she mused. A dress like that might be better for the party. “That is something people do have to deal with and I did see it for myself. I did try and convince them otherwise but there’s always hope for the future” she added.

“Perhaps grey would work” Rebecca mused in reply. “We do have that hope and as long as we can see the path we have all will be well” she added. Her girlfriend was one of the few good things in her life. One of the other things was her daughter who was somewhere out there and if Lucy had any sense she’d be well away from trouble and in deep cover.
