cookies and chat - Madison

Madison did have days off and it wasn’t always the ones you’d think she’d get. So she was getting back from walking her dog when she heard the cellphone go. Her initial plan for the rest of the day was to relax as her wedding day was looming fast. It was way too close in fact.

“Madison speaking” she replied as she paused the dog walking briefly.

Madison considered this and replied "I am out already walking my dog. My fiance's dog actually but he thinks I'm one of the bosses. So I could go to the university? Is there a dog friendly place or at least outside sitting there?"

She'd been a student not that long ago there having done her masters degree on the island but couldn't remember a dog friendly cafe.

"Daphne I remember a cafe with an outside area. I could meet you at the Red Rocket coffee shop in about thirty minutes" Madison replied. This coffee shop was was kind of like a Starbucks and the main supplier of caffeine away from the canteen proper. Also good for cookies and hot chocolate; also a place you could take a dog on the lead.

"Check is a good boy. He'll be fine" she added. She also had a cat but Lilith was a whole new level of weirdness now and trying to figure things out. "I'll see you soon".

A farewell for now was made as they'd meet up shortly.

Check trotted up beside Madison looking curious at the new person he was seeing. “He’s a good boy but I don’t think he expected the cold” she replied. At least she could dress for it but she could get him a dog coat if it got colder.

“So how are you getting on?” she asked. By now they just had to enter the coffee shop and get what they wanted; surely staff wouldn’t object to Check being there a little bit of time.

Daphne was looking for a job. Other things were coming together round that and figuring out what you wanted to do. To answer the other question they'd have to go outside once they were served but she knew what she wanted and that was a mint hot chocolate and a couple of cookies.

"I'd suggest looking at adopting a pet from the animal shelter. That's how Mallory found this little guy and he's really good company" she replied as Check looked round but stuck close to Madison.

She gave her order and then turned back to Daphne. "The job search will be easier in the new year. Things are just a bit hectic at present but if you think a dog is for you go for it" she added with a smile.

Madison looked over to Daphne as she replied “no need to worry. Just enjoy the holidays but what does the orphanage have planned?”. She was curious about that but it did seem like one big extended home. A few things might be going on as well as organised events.

“That sounds like fun. I did take a few students from there for tennis coaching and they do seem to have their own way of doing things. I’ll keep an eye out for other events they’re doing” Madison cheerfully replied. Even with working, getting ready for a wedding and worrying about a cat who was now a human with elfin ears. At least Lilith could keep an eye on Check.

“I heard about something they do in the digital newspaper. They give fashion dolls a second life and it’s also in the hospital” she remarked. Quite who or where the idea came from she’d no idea but it was a good one. A doll that looked like you was helpful to a girl growing up. With Madison it was easy but for obvious oddities that wouldn’t happen.
