the snow ruins everything (Lucifer)

Snow wasn’t something she expected as she walked with Alicia. Her breath steamed rather than misted in the cold given her higher body temperature but she was still dressed for fall except for an extra layer under her hoodie and fleece hat. Otherwise she looked dressed for action.

“That’s the nature of blood I’m afraid. I’ve split so much of it but not by choice. Sometimes it was people who wouldn’t leave me alone and other times it was them or me. There was no way I was going to end up in a CIA black site” Rebecca replied quietly and shrugged her slender shoulders. She was small but very dangerous. Her tail flicked behind her and she had a large knife hanging from her left hip. “This was unexpected but we’ll just need to be more careful while it’s around” she added.

“We’ll also need to watch our footing though I grew up in the north of Canada. This is easy for me” she cheerfully replied. As Dr M knew her rap sheet was inches full of looney toons level of violdnce. Usually carried out to keep her freedom along with a lot of petty crime that kept her fed and sheltered in her early years. It was a miracle she wasn’t a psychopath by now given her past fifteen years of life.

Anyway back to the unusual weather. “I’m feeling fine with this. So what’s the plan now we’re out and about?” Rebecca posed as the snow here wasn’t too bad. A foot deep when there was proper snow drifts in other places wasn’t hard to deal with if you had good boots on. Flame also melted snow very efficiently if they found something hard to pass.

Rebecca returned a chuckle as Alicia spoke. “I think you’re going to have too much fun. Let’s have a look at where you plan to have the operation” she replied. She didn’t want Alicia to get as wild as she got as that would get you into more than just trouble. You’d be hunted forever for a fraction of what she’d done and wouldn’t wish it on Alicia.

“Gotcha Alicia” was the reply as Rebecca kicked up more snow as she felt happy and relaxed. “Fun usually comes in the little things in life and knowing you’re doing things for yourself” she added as she’d now see what her girlfriend had planned up close. Seeing her happy was important to this girl but business could be dangerous at times and she had the experiences to draw on.

The destination was a small building which Alicia opened with a small key. It was functional and that was all that mattered for now. Further development would depend on the plan Alicia had.

"Thank you darling" Rebecca replied as she entered and took the scene in. She'd also noted where to find this again in case she needed to go here without her girlfriend. The lock wouldn't stop her anyway as she could just melt it with her ability.

She wasn't feeling the cold anyway and what worked for fall for most people was enough when it came to winter for her.

As the lights came on Rebecca could see the basic space they had to work with. Alicia was concerned about screams getting out and how people got there. “We are in a building that looks very ordinary. Sound proofing could be done by false walls. A basement in here would be better but I’ve known other criminal groups who have worked round the lack of a basement” she replied. More thought would be needed to figure out how to secrete people here but perhaps she could sabotage cameras in some way.

“I’m sure ideas will occur to me”. She was sure of that as she’d seen plenty of criminals at work and known many different ways of running an operation. Keeping it under the radar of law enforcement was usually the best approach but this was still the infancy of this operation.

“I think sound proofing with false walls would be quicker and cheaper” Rebecca replied. “If you want a basement it also has advantages but being able to make it harder to see people arrive here still needs some thought”. They could bounce ideas around for now and not have to rush things.

“There’s still fine details to work out in any case so we’ll have time to enjoy the holidays. I’ve also caught up with my co-workers and they seem to getting things done too” she added.
